Milton or Howell?

Just 1 preseason game in the books, I would go with Howell over Milton... If DAK goes down a QB with game time experience is a must. Milton is such a wild card and has no game time experience...Lets have this discussion in a couple weeks,,,we will no more then
Milton did play a game for the Patriots.

You sound like the people who tried to tell me to relax about Romo from preseason performances. I know what I'm looking for. Don't worry about me. I said what I said. Milton.
HOWELL, It's not about preseason performances I know what you think you see but I know what I know you don't get a backup to a guy like Prescott that doesn't know how to change his velocity and throw the ball he's still chucking the ball too damn hard on some of the little out routes and stuff.. I mean his ball has the same velocity it he hasn't changed i'm glad that he's developing he will be on this team he will be the emergency 3rd quarterback but Howell looks like Cooper rush when the better arm.. That's what you need is a backup a guy who's been there you don't give it up to Milton in my opinion not at the beginning of the year if if a quarterback gets hurt early you need to salvage the year and you're not doing that with Milton, milton is too much of a project.

It doesn't matter romo had nothing to do with it We're watching Prescott who is a starter he's actually just had one of his best years last year this team is trying to develop a defense they have a great offense you don't hand that opportunity off to a guy like Milton that's all I'm saying maybe year after this year we need a guy if Prescott goes down for a long period to have five or six games as a starter and the only guy on this team his name is Howell that can do that..

He played a throwaway game at the end of the year was nothing more than a preseason game come on can we not do this I mean you think that none of us saw the video yes he can play a little bit but only in games that don't count.. That game may have counted in your mind because it's a regular season game but it was a throwaway game..

Howell has put up numbers and won some games like Cooper Rush but he has a better arm than Cooper Rush Short term it's Howl long term maybe Milton who knows but right now how was the best answer if it happens early in the season if there's five games left in the season the Cowboys have no playoff hopes it's Milton see how I can do I can I can sit there on the line..

You just want to run your mouth. You didn't read or comprehend a word I said. Shut up man

All I know is in the last game last year....Milton but nearly identical numbers as dak....but with a run game.

Except last game last year where he put up similar numbers as dak...but able to run.

Many may not recall but just before the 2025 draft, Stephen Jones mentioned that they wanted to draft Dak's backup. Of course, that opened all kinds of questions about how high they were willing to invest in a draft pick. Well, they apparently didn't like what the draft offered. Instead, decided to send the Pats a 4th-rounder for Milton.

The point is, their original thinking was to possibly groom a potential replacement for Dak. That thinking may have changed since but this is why I believe the job is Milton's to lose. As mentioned before, I think Howell was signed to push Milton and give them a better idea of his future. JMO

We are going to know more in the coming weeks...its way to early to say who is leading the pack for the #2 QB spot....I like Milton...but man the cat is a wildcard..doesnt have any touch on the ball...its just a straight fastball...Howell aint nothing special either just has a more exprience....lets watch the the next few weeks before we crown a backup

Nobody said you can't think that.
The issue is you think so highly of yourself that you can tell me what should think. You're sick lol
No I do not think highly of myself in this subject it is an opinion and I'm sorry that you can't handle someone having a differing opinion than yours I know how the coaches think and they are not making Milton the long reliever in the season that still has hope Milton will be on his team obviously but he will be the emergency 3rd if this game started tomorrow

Howell old gets the nod.. One thing I don't have a coaches think that is why they kept Cooper rush around over a guy like Will Greer who flashed but never really they were comfortable with him starting games howell has started games..

Milton will continue to develop if the season is lost I hope he gets four or five games I am speaking in real terms that we still have a long season ago we still have a chance they will choose Howell over Milton..

Agree 100% .......it's early, but they only have one more preseason game. Schotty recently said they will pretty much know who's making the roster after the 2nd preseason game. Just my take: if it's even, I think Milton gets the nod. He's now doing exactly what they had hoped to see last season.

It’s one preseason game, but I thought Milton looked noticeably more comfortable than I ever remember seeing him before.

I thought going into camp that we'd carry two QBs and Milton would be out.

I thought Howell played really well.

But I was shocked at how well Milton played.

If you have two backups that can actually play, you gotta keep them both. Could be potential trade value down the road.

Strange how so many are giving Milton props considering how he's been so widely poo poo'd the entire time he's been here.

I'm hoping the Cowboys carry 3 QBs and keep them both. I like how they both performed against Seattle. They both managed the offense well.

That said, Joe Milton brings much more physical talent. But he also tends to play out of control. He can fire missiles but can be highly inaccurate, lacks touch and forces things.

Against Seattle, he looked completely different from a mental standpoint. He took what the defense gave him, didn't force risky throws, and threw with touch on shorter passes. He played like he understood that not every play has to be a big pass. It just has to be the smartest decision given the situation. He needs to keep doing that over the final two preseason games.

Before the Seattle game, I would have said Sam Howell, simply because I trusted him more to play more under control. I liked Howell's performance overall, too. They both bring something different to the mix.

It will be Milton, we traded for him and we are not letting him go, even if Howell plays well
