Milton would be exciting to watch if Dak were gone

Neither has been or ever will be a franchise QB. Jerry has y’all buying in again. Unreal! We have to bottom out, get a top 5 pick and take an educated gamble on a true franchise QB. Then and only then will there be light at the end of the tunnel. A true franchise QB is the only thing that overcomes our incompetent FO.

There could be hope for the Cowboys franchise if they finish the job.
Joe Milton is a legitimate candidate to be a long-term franchise quarterback.
However, Dak Prescott remains entrenched as the Cowboys starter. Not because he's earned it, but because he's got that huge contract. One thing we know about Jerry is that he will play the higher paid player, regardless if it is best for the team or not.
There is no way Joe Milton can succeed as long as Dak is still on the team. Even if Dak were injured, he would be returning to the starting spot as soon as he is healthy.
Jerry isn't about to admit to his mistake.
The Houston Texans are looking for fans. I hear their QB, CJ Stroud, is exciting to watch.

He'd be exciting to watch like a train wreck is exciting to watch.

The big throws would be fun. His size and mobility would be fun. The mistakes he'd make trying to become an NFL-quality starter would not be.

Milton is already swimming around inside Dak's head. That's all he needs. This will be over quick.
I’m sure you were spinning the same thing when the Cowboys traded for Lance.

If Joe Milton was a legitimate candidate to be a longterm franchise quarterback, he wouldn’t have been available in the 6th round, and then again for a 5th round comp pick.
Especially considering the jury is still out on Drake Maye who was 3-9 last season. If the Pats thought Milton was a potential franchise QB they would have kept him. He has some potential but as usual some are going way overboard.

Couldn't be worse than watching Dak choke every time the Cowboys play a good team.

He doesn't choke every time, but putting Milton out there certainly could be as bad as watching Dak at his worst, except we might be watching it in every game.

I'd prefer that he show he deserves to even be a starter in this league before we put him on the field in the regular season.

If he Wally Pips Dak like Dak did with Romo, I'm good with that as long as Milton deserves it.

Grier came into the league in 2019. He has appeared in a grand total of TWO regular season games. Two. Thats it.
28 of 52, 0 TD, 4 INT. You with a half a load on, Coogi, could beat out Grier.
Please not with you know who on my back, he's a load in itself!! Lol    :p

Maybe I should make a sign that says, "The End Is Near" and walk around outside.
Lol. That would be kind of funny. But there’s a little truth to all humor. The end is near for Dak but not due to performance or anything. Whether you love Dak or hate him he’s on the back end of his career. It’s realistic to think that we may have 2-4 years of Dak being the QB he is. This is why I like this trade because we don’t need Milton to start, we need him to develop. We’re in the stage of Dak’s career where a part of being the backup is being a potential replacement down the road.

I liked the Lance trade, even tho it didn’t work out and I really like this trade. On the basis that we’re churning the roster for a QB while Dak has some gas in the tank. I wouldn’t want to spend a 1st on a QB in this year’s draft just to have him sit and then possibly leave at the same time Dak retires. I do like spending a 4th (Lance) and a 5th (Milton) on guys that have raw potential but isn’t costing the rest of the team a possible premium player in rounds 1-3. I like churning the roster for a QB.

Now when Dak retires and we still haven’t found his replacement, then we go all out in round 1. But this year I’m excited to go round 5 for QB and round 1-3 for RB, WR, or DT.

Browns guy doubled down on Dak going to Cleveland in a trade, don't know why Dak would waive that no trade clause.

Dak will not want to even warm up around Milton. It will be embarrassing to him.
The difference will be staggering.
Milton stands calmly in the pocket and then throws a laser.
Dak will look like just an average guy if he stands next to Milton. It will stand out to everyone watching.
Dak is an average guy. Milton is less than average.
