There could be hope for the Cowboys franchise if they finish the job.
Joe Milton is a legitimate candidate to be a long-term franchise quarterback.
However, Dak Prescott remains entrenched as the Cowboys starter. Not because he's earned it, but because he's got that huge contract. One thing we know about Jerry is that he will play the higher paid player, regardless if it is best for the team or not.
There is no way Joe Milton can succeed as long as Dak is still on the team. Even if Dak were injured, he would be returning to the starting spot as soon as he is healthy.
Jerry isn't about to admit to his mistake.
For those of you, or maybe us, who want to see that we probably won’t have to wait long, Dak is on the backside of his career and he’s seriously injury prone now. I think the chances are greater than 50-50 that we see Milton for a while this year.
