1. OWA ODIGHIZUWA, UCLA
6 foot 3, 267 pounds, 4.62 seconds in the 40-yard dash
Lowdown: A very large, cut athlete with freakish physical tools, Odighizuwa blew up the combine as many expected. In addition to his 40, his 39-inch vertical, 127-inch broad jump and 4.19 seconds in the short shuttle ranked first, first and third respectively. Rag-dolled blockers one-on-one last season (61 tackles, six sacks). Will control the point of attack and disrupt a run game. Jim Mora's defense utilized Odighizuwa everywhere. He must still improve as a pass rusher. Doesn't possess an array of moves he'll need at the next level. Dad's side of family is muscular; Mom's side of family is tall. Said Odighizuwa, "I've got the best of both worlds." Yet he also put necessary time in weight room. High-ceiling pick.
Projection: First round
2. PRESTON SMITH, MISSISSIPPI STATE
6-5, 271, 4.74
Lowdown: A first-team All-SEC selection, Smith finished with nine sacks and 15 tackles for loss. Solid, if not spectacular, Smith can cave a pocket and turn run plays in. Uses his 34-inch arms effectively to bench-press tackles and tight ends. A prototypical 4-3 defensive end, who could probably add 10 pounds and be a 3-4 end, too. Plays with good balance to slide laterally and gets off blocks. Doesn't "wow" with burst or explosion. High-floor pick.
Projection: Second round
3. ARIK ARMSTEAD, OREGON
6-7, 292, 5.10
Lowdown: Had 46 tackles, 16 QB pressures, 2½ sacks in 2014 with the Ducks. Incredible size. A towering presence, Armstead is no lug. Brings sneaky quickness off the line to instantly gain leverage. While still very raw and unpolished, Armstead may have the best potential of any 3-4 ends in the draft. So-so combine. Athleticism on field didn't match athleticism in events. Briefly spent time on Oregon's basketball team, averaging 10 points and 10 rebounds per game as a high school senior and 16 and 10 as a junior.
Projection: Second round
4. TREY FLOWERS, ARKANSAS
6-2, 266, 4.93
Lowdown: Second-team All-SEC selection.
