As poorly as he played last year I just can’t imagine a rating being favorable to him…

I think he has to sustain it and the 96 needs to be an aberration, not the norm, for him to belong with the others. But what the numbers show is that even the elite QBs have swings from season to season usually from the 90s to 100s. So much is dependent on other factors (protection, receivers, injuries and even luck to an extent since interceptions can be dropped or caused by the receiver).

I don’t think Qbr is the end all though. That’s like saying a guy has 180 tackles so he was dominant. It don’t tell the whole story.

His numbers really weren't that bad. I think he had some bad games, but overall, he still completed 65.4 percent of his passes for almost 4,000 yards and 20 TDs. He did have a high of 12 interception, so his TD-to-int. ratio was not great. Mainly, the TDs were a little low. In comparison, Mahomes had 26 TDs to 11 ints. (and has had 11-14 interceptions each of the past four seasons).

Well, there's no perfect statistical measure. They also don't take into account losing McCaffrey for 13 games and the other injuries San Fran had that can affect QB play.

But Purdy's performance last year help the 49ers get him extended for cheaper, so I'm sure they don't mind.

More recently Nick Foles you can add a long line of players especially at quarterback that got carried by their teams, even Matthew Stafford as good as he is, and yes, he was really good, but his whole narrative changed when he switched to a Super Bowl caliber loaded team,

he still led the league in interceptions through two interceptions in the Super Bowl nobody talks about it because he got a ring because his defense bailed him out he had a great coaching staff...

It makes it easier on the quarterback doesn't it acting like Jalen hurt to some 5 time first team all pro just dropping ridiculous numbers in the passing game and instead you look at him as there's probably 16 quarterbacks in this league that could have won a Super Bowl with that team that's not discrediting Jalen Hurts that shows the importance of how the team is built to help the quarterback do his job efficiently.....

yes, this would be nice for our quarterbacks to have so he could be rated better as have a better team and a better coaching staff show up in the big moments...

Thanks, you make my point.

I stated in another post that Andy Dalton was absolutely washed when he played for the Cowboys yet the team's record was actually better in terms of completed games than with Dak Prescott in the same season.

The conclusion I draw from it is that the Cowboys had a good/very good roster during that season and that Dak Prescott was not and is not a difference maker as evidenced by his poor performances and record in the play offs. Hence why making him the highest paid player in NFL history in a sport that has a salary cap is not a receipe for success.

They don’t mind if this is his floor. If he’s the guy the previous two years they got him on a favorable deal.

true... I saw a recent meme it literally put up the numbers over the same. And Daniel Jones and Trevor Lawrence almost have the exact same numbers just let that sink in a little bit and we're talking about what the number one overall pick that the fans said he was going to be one of the best to ever play we're mad when they wouldn't let him come out of college right into the NFL from his freshman year you remember all that talk so he goes number one overall and he's has numbers like Daniel Jones and yet people are Belittling a quarterback who is taken in the 4th round and is not far away from overtaking every passing record in Dallas Cowboys history and regardless of his playoff failures because of the team around him yes it was the team responsible all of them including him have failed in the big games including the coaches the GMS everyone but imagine at Prescott was taken number one overall man this place would break but how could you be ripping a guy's career apart that had almost no expectations he was forced on the depth chart as a rookie and won OROY and Has had a great career outside of the playoff failures he still has time to get that fixed but we're talking about different expectations guy like Justin Herbert number 6 they're talking about him coming out of college being generational of course you should be harder on those players they were taken in the draft in a place where their expectations were them to be great prescott's doing great things taken in the 4th round with no expectations people don't understand that argument....

It is what it is that was the same with Romo undrafted free agent to 1 of the best quarterbacks to ever play for the Cowboys regardless of what people think about him they can't change history he they did not land on teams that were built with the coating staffs and the roster that Aikman and Roger had that's a fact anybody who wants to argue that those teams were built like last year's Eagles teams they just never called it an all in it it just what the Cowboys were back then...

And nobody wants to understand that they act like Roger and eight men were perfect if you look at their touchdown interception ratio if you look at what they had around them they seem to have been carried not to take anything away from them but if you want to be that hard on our last two quarterbacks you might want to go check history they had no pressure on them really with the team that bit was built around them all they needed to do was limit their mistakes and that's what they did but they were far from perfect they threw a lot of interceptions they fumbled the ball they made mistakes they made bad throws but they were covered up and never talked about because the team was that good.

This will always be a team game and there's nothing wrong with expecting your team to be better to help your quarterback play better that doesn't mean their bus drivers that doesn't mean they're bad players that means the expectation should be the same for every one the easiest path to the Super Bowl would be having more talent around your quarterback, Period end of Story...
