It really is mind boggling how disrespectful some have been towards him. I mean, has his injury not proved anything to you? Notice we aren't sniffing the QB? Well, he might not be responsible for a lot of sacks, but his presence alone opens up the opportunity's for others. Get off his back and stop it w the "dump him at the end of the year" and "he's washed up" nonsense.

Sorry man, I appreciate the effort (amongst other things) Dware has given us but if a player becomes a shell of his former self (I'll let more qualified folks decide if that's the case for DWare) it's time to move on, that's part of the NFL deal.

Miss two games for the 1st time in your career...suddenly you're a bum.

Again...remember...after week 1 and 2 people were wondering whether he would break the single season sack record.

People couldn't stop talking about how dominant he looked in training camp.

Suddenly he can't play.

My problem with Ware is he's hurt again, and in his tenure here and Dallas he's one of the players on this team that I associate with losing the kinds of games we lost yesterday in Detroit. He's been there, in helmet and pads, on the field- as teams have magically solved the Cowboys D in less than 1:00 trailing by six time and time again.

To be 100% truthful, in my heart I believe that Ware @ 100% on yesterday's final posession in Detroit would not have mattered. So while I appreciate the great player that Demarcus is- I find myself muted when I think about his contribution to the team over the past 9 seasons.

He's not a part of the problem, but has NEVER been a part of any kind of solution. So there's that.

Ware has won us more games...many in the final minutes...more than he has "lost us" or "not mattered."

The fact that this is your stance completely discredits you.

Nevermind if Ware is healthy all game perhaps we win comfortably and you would never give him credit for "mattering."

perhaps those people aren't as great at talent evaluation as we'd like to believe or perhaps his competition in training camp was very ordinary?

look he started off strong, but his tender shoulder is apparently pork loin the past two seasons. I know he's my avatar but I'm just too lazy to change it. I truly hope he comes back and plays full speed we will need him for every pentultimate possession we put our opponents in.

Imagine how ordinary we would be without him in the line up vs with him in the line-up. Oh wait...

Smith has been one of the best left tackles in the game to date.

On an Island. Game after game.

So no...not buying Ware was beating up scrubs.

I literally question your ability to think critically right now.

its just sad seeing the decline of a HoF player

You don't know that. He's injured. I remember telling people T New was injured and everyone scoffed and said he was over the hill. Well, he's doing fine now. I do admit I soured on him not over talent but over not being able to either stay on the field or play well enough with the injuries. But I digress. Ware could have a significant problem with his neck (stingers) or he could come back and do well. It's just too early to say one way or the other.

Critically speaking he is pro-bowl caliber player- a complete player- when healthy. I'm not denying any of that.

He however hasn't been healthy in almost three seasons. He had 11 sacks last season. Yes he was hurt. He is hurt again. And you're right, I'm not of the mindset to wax nostalgic about his performances against the Saints in '09, Colts in '06... sure he's had an amazing career and some phenomenal moments.

But I don't think it's fair to put him in some kind of bubble of beyond reproach while castigating every other player on this team for their ineptitude at closing out ballgames.

Yeah not so fast on Newman, he's played decently at Cincy but has been a part of their not nearly as common late game flops as well

They have a solid if not better secondary of which Newman and Jones are a part. To be fair to Jerry et all, Newman couldn't stay on the field here and well you know the story of Jones.

I dont remember people saying that...and if they did, I'd say that would be about as delusional as it gets

Ware's injury is with his quad, not the neck stingers. Granted the rest he's getting is probably helping those, but the stingers aren't why he's missed games.

Besides that, he's said that he'll be dealing with stingers for the rest of his career.

everyone backing him is why NE, for example, outperforms us. We hold onto declining players...NE gets rid of them while they still have value.

the Jerry Jones marketing machine has really clouded Cowboy nation. There are respectable organizations that have won SUPER BOWLS that move on from players. This core has won NOTHING. Yet we hold onto them for dear life. Gotta give it to Jerry, he has found a way to sell something other than winning. Did the Pats move on from Richard Seymour? Did the Steelers move on from James Harrison. Did the Giants move on from Umenyora? ALL of these teams have WON!!! Wake up people....this group has won NOTHING. Why are we so afraid to live without them?

Let me ask you guys something. Romo, Witten and Ware will own every Cowboy record when they are done. If they NEVER win another playoff game, do you think they will be in the Ring of Honor? My guess is that they will. And every time I see there names...I will not be moved much if at all. I respect what they have accomplished. They have been paid a TON for that production. But they simply are NOT winners!!! Accept it!

I for one am hoping Ware comes back and is his old self -- I mean who the heck wouldn't want a dominating 15+ sack a year DE right?

The one thing I worry about however, is pass rushers often hit the wall all at once and last year dropped from 19.5 sacks to 11.5 sacks and this year it looks like he has a good chance to finish with less.

Is this a blip or a trend? Will Ware have a relatively healthy and productive "back 9" of his career or he is pretty much shot?

We'll find out. I'm hoping to see him back healthy and productive. I had dreams of him breaking Bruce Smith's record -- while still possible it's becoming less and less probably.
