Minicamp Day 1 notes

..they forgot to mention, Jerry was doubling up the salt on his BK Whopper. ;)..

George Pickens is about to get paid :lmao:
Not until after this season if he performs real well and doesn’t start trouble. Anything less than 900 yards and he’ll be allowed to walk. It might take a 1000 yard season for him to be extended.

DBs aren't allowed to get physical with the WRs.
100%

Definitely a big advantage for the offense

Just seeing QB and receivers connecting on day one is encouraging considering this was one of the top three red alerts for the Zone

Would both Lamb and Pickens getting 2,000 and 18 TDs combined be success?

Would you sign off on a big deal for Pickens if that happened?

Honestly, I see Lamb/??? Like I see Chase/Higgens or Smith/Adams

Like Pickens said when he got here, defenses can't double everybody. Imagine it's third down and the Cowboys line up Pickens and Lamb wide, with Turpin or Ferguson in the slot, and then motion Jaydon Blue out of the backfield.

Have fun with that, opposing secondaries.
It's an embarrassment of riches.

He was not a bad player for the Bills. Yes, he had a couple really tough games that shook his confidence. But overall he played decent......I think the Bills' HC never forgave him for that terrible playoff game.
He's a better player than what he was billed as when the trade was made. You listen to these local Dallas media guys and they talk about him like he's in the mix with Caelen Carson and Josh Butler.

He's a week 1 starter and he might not give it up all year.

Cowboys rookie DE Donovan Ezeiruaku is not concerned about when his rookie contract is done: “I’m here doing what I have to do every single day. That’s between the organization and my agent. I have full faith that they’re gonna get that done. When it’s ready, it’ll be ready and I’ll sign that piece of paper.”

On OTAs/minicamp: “It’s going really well. I’m living the dream.”

Brian Schottenheimer on Ezeiruaku: “He’s doing really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really great. You can’t watch the guy and not get excited just watching him do the things that we’re doing out there on the grass, the things that we saw coming out of Boston College. And then the work ethic is elite.”

That's 9 reallys. Anything more than 8 and you're talking All Pro.

Where’s leeblair?

He’s always on the backup QB train

Last year it was Rush could take them to the Super Bowl
oh, he once claimed that Moore was a HOF type QB. he went on as he always does, explaining the play that made him a HOF type QB...and btw, the play was an interception!!!
and he also claimed Tashard Choice was a better RB than Emmitt Smith...no kidding. he did.

usually he falls off the wagon. downs a few and his brain goes to work, but his body stays and he writes drivel. and he thinks he is so profound...just too funny.

@leeblair where are you?

I'll say it. Elam is our best cornerback.
Well, with Bland in the slot, he'd be our best outside corner. Of course, his competition for that billing so far is Andrew Booth and Israel Mukuamu.

Cowboys Minicamp Day 1 Notes:

- WR George Pickens hauled in five receptions during the team period on a variety of routes. One comeback route completion against Mukuamu was the standout.

- Overall, a strong day for QB Dak Prescott. He went 17-for-19 passing in team periods and completed more balls along the sideline than we’ve seen today.

- Joe Milton went 8-for-8, including three receptions to WR Jalen Cropper who continues to find ways to get open in the offseason setting.

- OL Rob Jones left practice early with a clear grimace on his face.

- More reps with the ones for TE Brevyn Spann-Ford. He’s been one of the consistent standouts in media availabilities.
- Another PBU registered for CB Kaiir Elam today. DBs can’t be super physical in these settings, but he still finds way to get his hands on the ball.

- Extend Pickens, cut Mukuamu
- Extend Dak
- Extend Milton
- Cropper is our #1
- Cut Rob Jones
- Franchise Brevyn Spann-Ford
- Kaiir Elam is our Darrelle Revis

Cowboys Minicamp Practice #1 Notes:

- Dak & Pickens connection was ACTIVE

- Most action took place underneath, making it tough on DBs who can’t be physical yet

- Milton showed more accuracy (10-for-10 in team period). Had incredible deep throw to Cropper

- Mingo was second-most targeted WR behind Pickens. Caught all his targets including one catch down right sideline

- Elam and Sanborn both with a stout PBU in coverage, otherwise tough day on DBs

Mingo = WR3

Hopefully the rookie gets healthy quickly too. We have talent at CB but much of it’s in the training room lol
