Minicamp Day 1 notes

Dak never plays preseason, Milton will have plenty of opportunities.
Milton will play the preseason games because he has surpassed Prescott on the depth chart. That is pretty clear when you dig deep into these notes.

The page has finally been turned.

My biggest takeaway from MC1 (minicamp 1) by the #Cowboys:

Dak Prescott connection/chemistry with George Pickens is already very, very real — the two connecting on several attempts that either included YAC or a big downfield play.

One deep ball that was caught in double coverage by Pickens led CeeDee Lamb to yelling and dancing on the opposite side of the play after the catch.

Dak, Cee Dee, Pickens, WR3, Ferguson are going to feast if they can establish a running game. They could become something.

Nobody's name seems to mainly be Mukuamu. Pickens vs. Mukuamu on the outside is a mismatch. Not saying he doesn't beat quality corners, but Muku is not a quality outside corner.
That’s what elite WR’s are supposed to do to “not quality outside corners”.

Cowboys Minicamp Day 1 Notes:

- WR George Pickens hauled in five receptions during the team period on a variety of routes. One comeback route completion against Mukuamu was the standout.

- Overall, a strong day for QB Dak Prescott. He went 17-for-19 passing in team periods and completed more balls along the sideline than we’ve seen today.

- Joe Milton went 8-for-8, including three receptions to WR Jalen Cropper who continues to find ways to get open in the offseason setting.

- OL Rob Jones left practice early with a clear grimace on his face.

- More reps with the ones for TE Brevyn Spann-Ford. He’s been one of the consistent standouts in media availabilities.
- Another PBU registered for CB Kaiir Elam today. DBs can’t be super physical in these settings, but he still finds way to get his hands on the ball.

Thank you for sharing, @Risen Star !

Don’t take me wrong. I will be a GP fan for at least one year. But, nobody could guard Brandin Cooks in camp last year either.

Not until after this season if he performs real well and doesn’t start trouble. Anything less than 900 yards and he’ll be allowed to walk. It might take a 1000 yard season for him to be extended.
Agreed....I am holding CeeDee, Amari Cooper and Dalton Shultz beers. Cedric Wilson doesn't drink :lmao2:

I was actually thinking it would be the other way around.

Ceedee and Pickens are already established producers so the defenses will have to utilize more backers and Safeties to cover them....its our unproven running backs that should benefit from that situation.

If so, our running game could improve from having the 27th least of team rushing yards.

Use strength to elevate a weakness
