As if the Cowboys didn’t learn a thing last year, here we sit with Bryant seeing only three deep targets through two games—lower than his 2012 rate—and Romo attempting just five deep passes altogether. That’s 5.5 percent of Romo’s passes—the second-lowest mark in the NFL, according to Pro Football Focus.

I thought early last year this was related to the horrible performance of the O line, then as they began to play better and Romo had more confidence in them they began to look for more deep routes.

It appears to me the O line is playing better then it did at anytime last year, yet we are still not looking to go long but 5% of the time.

It seems to me just attempting it more might help the effectiveness of the short and middle of the field routes this O coordinator wants to utilize as well as helping the running game.
