minimum spending question

my understanding is that teams must spend at least 86.4% of the cap which is currently at $116.7M

if a team, however, has an adjusted cap that surpasses the $116M, then which number is used for minimum spending.

for example, minnesota has an adjusted cap at $137M. would the 86.4% apply to $137m or $116M?

Good question, you should probably post it in Adam's cap thread in the daily zone, because if anybody on this forum knows the answer I'd bet its him.

I'm pretty sure that the percentage is applied to the team's adjusted salary cap. Otherwise, you theoretically could end up with a team's adjusted cap being below the leaguewide unadjusted minimum -- so that team wouldn't even be allowed to spend the minimum.

Or...you could just have him answer your post :)

You keep whining about that. Let me ask you which Free Agents you preferred over Flozell Adams, Ken Hamlin, Marion Barber, and Chris Canty and how much would you be willing to spend on them?
