I watched the game again.

1) Thank god we have Leonard Davis. Watching him only shows how much Rivera hurt us last year.

2) Special teams was much better and I hope we step it up another level against Hester.

3) Hurd is a stud. The guy is all over the field making plays ST's/WR. I think this guy is going to be special.

4) I really like Garrett he has been a savior to my sanity. I am so much calmer this year because we are playing to win. My nerves were shot, last year, when we played not to lose.

5) I really like how we are rotating players it is wearing down defenses/offenses bigtime.

6) I thought Ratliff played really well and he has a quick first step. The guy stepping up is huge for us.

Only frustration is the OL needs to quit making dumb mistakes with false starts etc. I think we left about 14 points on the board because of stupid penalties.

I'm not impressed with Hurd as a receiver. He doesn't seem to be very fast. He can't get separation in the underneath game. He's only getting 1-2 looks per game. Crayton, playing a similar role last season just seemed to get open more often. Of course, he had Owens, Glenn, and Witten on the field at the same time. I just don't see Hurd as anything more than a 4th WR.

How did that turn out?

;)

Quality! Not quantity...

Really? I really like what I see in Hurd.

I didn't think Misc played good at all. Now that I think about it, I don't even think I saw him in at all. Did he even make the trip?

Our Rookie PK is solid

Burnett and Roy in the box at Lb in passing packages is nasty.

Canty looks to be far greater than Spears.....

5 takeaways, the Phillips 3-4 is starting to actually confuse an offense, thats new

Fasano was flat out picked up and pancaked to the turf by a Dolphin Dline guy.

MB3 is a beast

Nice to see Phillips get the ball to TO in a critical spot

Ratliff may be our Future 3-4 DE

POSITIVE VIBE COACHES HAVE ON SIDELINES

I really wonder what game you're watching sometimes.

I'm with theo on Hurd. It's nothing against Sam -- he's got a tremendous work ethic and he's made himself into an NFL receiver, so good on him. He's also tough and good on special teams. He's just not a real great athlete for this level of football.

I was kind of hoping Austin would get a chance the other night. I think he'd surprise defenses with his speed.

This to me is like the Gurode/Johnson competition where one had one necessary attribute for the position and the other had the other necessary attribute. Gurode had the strength and ability, but looked like an idiot on the field, and Johnson just couldn't add the bulk and strength necessary for the game.

Austin is quite the athlete, unlike Hurd. His problem is that he's just incredibly raw and doesn't look to be improving much from what I saw in preseason in that regard. Give him another year and see what happens, but after that we're going to have to cut the cord.
