What do you mean missing icons? Like shortcuts? On your desktop?
I mean they are no longer at the bottom of the screen. They were there yesterday, but they aren't today. They're gone.
Right click on an unused area of the taskbar. In the right click menu, click or tap on Settings. To open the settings of the Notification area, scroll down the list of taskbar related settings and click or tap the "Select which icons appear on the taskbar" link from the right side pane. This window lists all the icons that are shown or can be shown on the taskbar’s notification area. Each icon has a switch to its right, which you can turn On or Off, depending on whether you want to see that icon on the taskbar or not.
OK. After I get "Select which options appear on the taskbar", there is a page that says "always show all icons in the notification area." Below that, there is an on/off toggle switch. There is nothing else on that page.
You don't see something like this?
When I go into the lower left hand corner of the screen, and clock on Settings, which is just above the Power button, and click on System on the next page, it says on the next page Customize your display. At the far left, there are a number of options. One of the options is Notifications & Actions. When I click on that, nothing happens. Left click or right click.
You should be going to Notifications, not system.
Try this instead, have Cortana search using the words "taskbar icons" and then click or tap on "Select which icons appear on the taskbar".
Sorry, bro. Out of ideas without looking at it.
