I'm beginning to lean this direction too. The amount of positions we could upgrade with that money vs. one guy who's not elite. It shouldn't take 3 number one receivers and a top-5 running back in addition to great line play for your QB to win these types of games. It's not even thr numbers. I don't care. It's the final score that counts and too often he seems to be on the wrong side in one score games.
It's a catch 22. If they pay him, they might not be able to improve this team. Especially when a Gallup extension is coming up. And Cooper will be hitting the cap hard next year. If you don't pay him, who do we have right now? Any rookie next year would have to be a diamond in the rough. We'll probably be drafting in the mid first round.
