I have mixed feelings about The Tuna as I believe his offense is a bit predictable and boring. But, I see what he is doing with the D and one can only be excited. We will add the players we need in the draft/FA and I believe our D will be top 6 or 7 this year and top 1-2 next. He is building a dominant D and we all know D wins the big games. I think we win the NFC Championship within 2 years.

I also predict Romo will be starting for us in the Superbowl.........

We had a very predictable and boring offense in the 1990s also. Get a big lead by passing, then run Emmitt Smith down their throats.

We need better execution and players. That comes from coaching also, but just because the offense doesn't excite anyone does not mean it is flawed.

I did not say it was flawed. I would like to see us throw the ball down the field more often and I do understand that Drew needs some better protection in order to do this. Yes, we need AN ol, but I think we have the RB's, maybe need another WR to develop.

Also a good example of the mentality is Pittsburg this year in the playoffs.

I agree, Everyone and their brother knew what Dallas was going to do on offense in the 90's but teams could not stop it. An offense looks a lot more exciting when the players actually executes the play

Agreed......but, since Free Agency, there is much more parity. Back in the 90's the Boys had a huge talent advantage over most of the teams. With FA, this is not the case anymore. I believe we must gety a little more creative with our play calling.

It still comes down to executing the plays and when you getting break downs along the line that is going to kill plays no matter what plays your calling.

Agree re where defense is going until Parcells. He's setting Cowboys up as the dominant defense for the next 5-10 years. Glover & Singleton won't be back, Nguyen retiring & believe eventually we end up trading Ellis. Also doubt Coleman & Ogobog (sp) will be back, thus leaving us with only 2 defensive players over 30 (Ferguson & Aaron Glenn). We need only add a FS & OLB & hope remaining young players reach the potential Parcells probably expects from them (Spears, Canty & Ware) but also particularly Ratliff, Thomas (Pepper) Johnson, Kalen Thornton, Burnett, Nate Jones (5th CB), Bieraut, etc. I would like to see Cowboys also add another NT & CB in case of injury since both starters older/retirement 2-3 years away.

Boring predictable offenses are the most dominant in my opinion. Everyone knows what you are going to do but they still cant shut you down. Pittsburgh is a great example of that, everyone knows they want to run the ball but cant stop it and just when they over committ Big Ben shreds them for a 20 yarder. Rice is going to run 10 slants a game go cover him. No one was more predictable than the Cowboys in the 90s, Emmitt up the middle , Irvin on an out, Novachek over the middle and Harper deep. Ok, now go out and stop em. Good luck to u!

Just so I don't seem like every post I make is negative today... ;) I don't like our developing defense, I LOVE our developing defense.

Ware is going to be a true monster in this league. IMO even many people who like him still underrate his upside.

Spears is a tremendous athlete for a 300-lber (just watched re-watched the Chiefs Game of the Week when he effortlessly scooped up that fumble and ran 40 yards). The early ankle injury really hurt him last year, but he came on strong at the end. Again, big upside on him.

Canty knows the scheme and will be very solid for years once he gets a year of lifting and protein shakes under his belt.

Our secondary needs only an above-average FS to be one of the best in the league. I think our corners already may be the best.

And the couple of holes we do need to fill are at lower-value positions.

Barring injury, this D is going to be great fun to watch for years to come.

Agree with all of that Lab... I think Spears is going to be very, very good at DE. Get one more impact OLB opposite Ware and look out!
