You sure are easy to aggravate, i did not read your diatribe because i do not care for your ignorant rants, bottom line in REALITY and topic is A&M is mediocre and always thinks they're better than that, the Big 12 is better off with the new additions than they were with the subtractions, you're clearly bitter you strengthened the conference as opposed to destroying it.

Big 12 with TCU and WVU > Big 12 with Mizzou ATM

Probably for the best, your mind clearly has no room for facts.

A&M isnt the historical doormat you wish we were. We're a top 20 program all-time by just about every possible barometer for success one chooses to use.

Missouri is going to hate being in the SEC as much as A&M will.

Especially considering they lost their connections to Texas. They are going to be another Kentucky.

the talk here in aggieland has gone from joy to get away from the Longhorns to a feeling of hopelessness.

Our results this year have no bearing whatsoever on our optimism about joining the SEC. It's a long-term decision that benefits us financially and in terms of national exposure. While Texas is playing 11 AM games against Kansas and Iowa State on a third tier fox network, A&M will be playing LSU, Bama, Auburn, Arkansas, etc. in 2:30 PM and primetime slots on CBS and the ESPN affiliates every week.

Looking at the Longhorns probable home schedule for next year, they better be damn good if they want that place full every week. The fans certainly won't be coming to see the competition. Your best home game will be Baylor.

This sure is a volatile topic:laugh2:

As someone without a horse in this race, here are my unimportant thoughts:

* The SEC and Big 12 will survive...sorry A&M fans, as I sense you hope will not happen

* The SEC most certainly got the more desirable overall programs to add to their conference, but the Big 12 accounted for themselves fairly well by adding WVU and TCU.

* The SEC Presidents will be happy because they upgraded the conference academically while not lowering the average athletically.

* My guess is that TAM and Mizzou will be middle-of-the-pack football programs and the same in almost all sports in the SEC. That is hard to do.

*TCU and WVU will be average or even above average in football, WVU will be the that way in basketball, and TCU in baseball....but overall, they will not compete as well in other sports. Does WVU even have baseball or track? lol

* The Big 12 presidents know they have now lost 4 good all-around athletic/academic programs in two years and brought in at least one (maybe two) that are rated lower than all 4 that they lost when entoire academic/athletics are taken into account.

In the end though, both conferences will be fine.

I couldnt care less if the Big XII survives or not, I just don't think it will. A conference being run by the blind ambition of one athletic director is simply too unstable to last long term. Four teams have left in the last two years over this issue, how long before OU decides keeping up the conference affiliation isnt worth Dodds giving them the run around?

Yes WVU has a baseball team but I could not tell you if they are good or not as I think baseball sucks so I don't watch any level of it. :laugh1:

WVU also has a track team but again I don't watch it so could not tell you if it is any good.

WVU also has a wrestling team which some in the Big XII were hoping to get another school with wrestling.

What WVU will have to do in some other areas is try to find other conferences to join for a few sports like Soccer where WVU has a decent team and the Women's soccer team just won the big east title.

WVU also has one of the nations best rifle squads.

This comes as a shock to absolutely no one :laugh1:

One would think that ATM would be known for their rifle squad...since the corp of cadets are so prominent.

Then again...maybe not. :laugh1:

Rifle squad...sweet.

Yeah, the Mounties had baseball. Big 12 baseball is pretty extreme though...but not SEC or ACC level.

I think Missouri used to be good in wrestling. That's a sport that was a title IX casualty at many schools.

In the end, it's football, mens basketball, baseball, women's basketball, then the rest...but the rest are important if you take a school for all sports....just not as much to us.

Well if we don't get some decent defensive players soon or turn it around, we are going to get slaughtered. I swear sometimes it is like seeing mirror teams with WVU and Dallas...all the potential in the word but finds a way to let me down.

Basketball (mens and womens) should be ok. Good womens team...not baylor good but decent although I really don't follow it.

Men's basketball team has me worried as we had a bad scrimmage but it was a scrimmage so who knows. Sometimes I watch some of the basketball games during the season and think...can we go far, then we do decent in the tourney so I really can't get a good feel for them.

Either way Football is the main sport for me, basketball a distant second and I don't really care much about the other sports. Just have fellow fans tell me about them or read a blurb about them from time to time.

As far as the baseball...I don't think it is something big here. Just not a passion for most WVU fans. I have heard the baseball field is pretty pathetic but they are working on getting it a little better.

West Virginia had a couple really salty teams back in the Don Nehlen days. That 1993 team was one of the best teams ever to not win a national title.

Their current manifestation just won't hold up in the Big XII though, IMO. Dana Holgerson is an offensive genius, but he is going to have to make a remarkable change on the defensive side of the ball to be truly competative. That 3-3-5 stack nonsense that Casteel runs isnt going to cut it week in and week out in the Big XII. It's been effective in the Big East, but top level lines will decimate it up front.

Problem is we just don't have the players right now.

7 new starters on Defense this year and we don't have the depth that other teams have right now. Of those 7 players lost, 6 of them are currently on NFL rosters. We currently got one guy playing DB who is so bad he reminds me of Ball playing for the Cowboys.

Hell it is not effective right now in the big east...because we just don't have the players right now.

I don't know if Holgs will change the DC or scheme going into next year or not. I know Casteel got a new contract this past season or offseason and has always had a decent to good defense that was constantly ranked in the top ten the last few years.

They may switch to a more run oriented defense in the future as they get better recruits...I can't really say for sure.

But I do know we have not blown double digit leads to lose multiple games in the second half multiple times like the aggies have so I don't know if we want to switch to the scheme they are using. :laugh1:

so does this mean that Auburn moves East?

EAST
Florida
Georgia
South Carolina
Tennessee
Vanderbilt
Kentucky
Auburn

WEST
Alabama
LSU
Miss St.
Miss
Arkansas
A&M
Mizzou

A&M could barely stay afloat in the Big 12, a conference bashed by so many.....now, they have to play Alabama, LSU, and Arkansas every year....:lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2:

Auburn and Bama refuse to split so it sounds like Mizzou will go to the East. It sounds bad but they are close to Tennessee, Vandy, and Kentucky. Only SC, Florida, and Georgia are long road trips.

mizzou isnt in the southeast to begin with, it doesnt really matter what division they are in IMO, the whole geographical thing is out the window anyway
