I should have been more specifc but regardless of when he pitches Cueto wins when he's scheduled and Bumbgarner wins when he's scheduled. Bumbgarner will still be eligible to pitch game 5, so the scenario I explained still holds.

Pitching game 3 and 5? He must be superman, heh. This whole series is off-balance now because of the one-game playoff.

Isn't a pitcher eligible after a 2 day rest if it's the last game of the season?

They can pitch every night if physically able. At best, a starter needs 3 full days of rest, 2 isn't going to happen. Now, he could come in game 5 late to pitch an inning or two but in no way can he start.

This is a good example of why one-game series suck.

Let's see what happens but I still see a similar scenario unfolding . I think Cubs win it next year when they have a mediocre season.

Also Bumbgarner should be eligible to pitch game 2 since the first game is Friday.

Where did you see he is scheduled to pitch game 3? What I've seen it's still
