MLB Home Run Derby- National Anthem

If you have yet to watch it, watch it....that's all
What a disaster

I've only heard one of her songs
Think it was called more hearts than mine

Her voice didn't impress me
But she sounded like Pavarotti in that song compared to that anthem performance

I hope she sticks to studio enhanced performances and never sings the anthem a capella every again. That was borderline disrespectful

Seemed as if she hadn't heard the anthem, lol. I feel really bad for her, you could tell she was tearing up in the end knowing she just destroyed it. Does she not have a Spotify account, lol..?

Pathetic.
4 time Grammy award winner?
I guess they just hand those out to anyone now.
She looked and sounded drunk, or something.

After a widely panned performance of the U.S. national anthem at the MLB Home Run Derby, country singer Ingrid Andress apologized Tuesday and said she was drunk.
"I'm checking myself into a facility today to get the help I need," she posted on social media. "That was not me last night. I apologize to MLB, all the fans, and this country I love so much for that rendition."

If true then I'm changing my earlier comment in this thread

If she actually sang the anthem drunk that's not borderline disrespectful. It's totally disrespectful.

To sing that song in front of a crowd at a big time sporting event is a huge honor. If she showed up tanked then shame on her IMO

Being drunk isn't some excuse to be that bad. Whitney Houston has sang like an angel for a whole concert while high on crack. Go down the list of countless musicians from all genres who have been high on any substance you can imagine who rock out for months at a time doing everything under the sun. Not to mention how many drunk people I have heard sing 100x better than that at a random dive bar.

Nothing more than a PR spin from her team to try and deflect on how bad that was. And it seems to have worked. I see nothing but sympathy and saying how brave she was to admit that lol.
