It's pretty easy to say 'we like Kellen in this role and he will return if he doesn't find a position elsewhere.'
True. But McCarthy could have went into this pres conference with the intent on giving the same answer for any coaching questions. I hope not, but who knows.

In a perfect world, Kellen is gone alone with the QB coach. And Quinn decides to stay another year to finish what he started with this defense

It's the Garrett situation all over again. Jerry won't let him go because he thinks he could be the next great one. But in the end, nobody even considered Garrett for a hc job and he is now out of the NFL.
I'm not convinced Jerry thinks this way about Moore. Garrett was also part nostalgia; connection to the glory days. Moore doesn't have that. Not does he have the personality of Payton, who Jerry loved, probably because he was also marketable.

Moore may have once been heralded as some kind of genius, but if Jerry wants anyone on staff to take over for Mike, it's Quinn. Moore doesn't have charisma or the leadership chops and isn't on the same plane.

Hope Moore does not end up being Garrett 2.0

Moore is either done here or he will be our next HC. Makes absolutely zero reason to retain him, especially when we are stuck with Dak.
