Twitter: MM Packer stat on 1st downs

While I would love to see more unpredictable play calling, being saddled with 2nd and 10 effectively takes the OL and Zeke out of the game. Passes on 1st down need to be play action high percentage plays designed to get an easy 5-8 yards so that they can be unpredictable again on 2nd down. I really don’t want Dak trying to complete 15-20 yard throws on 1st down on a regular basis. That has 3 and out written all over it.

I don't think so. Just because its 2nd and 10 shouldn't eliminate the run. Get whatever you can there and make it a manageable 3rd and 5 or 3rd and 4.
