I think MM is a direct beneficiary of being a successor to Jason Garrett; the bar had to have been set pretty low. He has issues with game/clock management and thus far as failed to produce a team that plays consistent football; not to mention issues with penalties. The team seems overwhelmed and plays tight, sloppy, uninspired football in the post season; and it always seems like the team is never ascending going into playoffs…to me that is coaching issue.

The Cowboys are a 12 win team. They have proven they can beat, stomp any NFC team, on the road or at home. They rise to the level of adversity. Dak has proven this.

Now, it comes down to MM. Can he get this team to win three straight on-the-road games to get to the SB? He's proven he can. No other NFC current HC can make that statement

Your thoughts?

I agree..... but is it a good difference or a bad difference? Remains to be seen.

:starspin:COACH OF THE YEAR:starspin:
That has to go to Daboll or Sirianni this year even tho the way we stayed in it with Rush should get MM in the conversation, it happened too early in the year for anyone to remember or care now

Last year, Dallas couldn't beat a winning team. Dallas did a 180 and now have beaten a majority of teams with winning records. Not to.mention they have beaten most of the teams heading into the playoffs.

It's been a great year, this team has beat some quality teams, and worked through some injuries. We are 12-4 with another playoff spot locked up.

I'd say he has done a fantastic job.

Will this translate through to the playoffs? Time will tell.

Man... every game I just hope and pray that Mike doesn't do something stupid... If playoff success is dependent on Mike for in game adjustments, clock management, challenge situation we are in trouble.
He doesn't call the defense, offense, specials, I guess he is just a great organizer.. My guess is he just takes attendance and makes sure the lights are turned off at the end of the day.

I am not impressed until he gets us to a championship game. That is the ultimate litmus test

I do not think their is a coach out there who could make this team any better in a short time. He is doing very good.

I think those stupid / risk decisions were done in early part of the season. There's more at stake now and he'd more calculated.

Its undeniable he is a good coach

There are things he needs to improve on (situational awareness, clock management), but the fact that he has turned us into a perennial Playoff contender with Dak Prescott as his QB and Jerry Jones as his GM says a lot.

Yep....he sure is the difference maker...the difference between a #1 and #5 seed for not insisting that Junior call running plays at Jacksonville.

I can't argue against his record.
Let's look at the 6 NFC playoff teams right now.
Eagles, Niners, Vikings, Bucs, Cowboys, Giants.
To me Big Mike and Todd Bowles are fighting for the 6th slot.
We have to go back to when Jimmy Johnson was our head coach when I felt we were consistently the better coached team. This one thing is what has held Jerry back more than anything.

When he made that statement in March/ April of 1994... 500 coaches could take this team to a SB... Jerry never recovered.
Sorry for totally taking this discussion off the map...

MM has the better HC coaching resume among the NFC HCs.

Right now this team looks just like it did in previous years,,, before declaring victory we must wait and see how the team stacks up against the real playoff teams and not the cream-puff parade they've been beating up on.

Resume is one thing vs what you see with your eyes throughout the year or past two years.

There is a very apt saying, likes, dam lies and then statistics....
