That's how the draft works, not lucky they still had these guys there when they picked him. Smith (they had at 16) and would probably go higher in a redraft. As with Parsons, they wanted Surtain(who would've been a good pick) and traded down, got a 3rd still got Micah and I saw him as #2 in a recent redraft. How is this lucky? Give some credit, man.

That is why teams have a draft "board".
It is set up to list 3 or 4 players that project to available each round, that the draft personnel rate would be selectable for them.
If the most perferred player has previously been picked by another franchise, the personnel then determines which of the other guys that were targeted for they want - or go to contingency plan(s) such as trading up or down in the draft.

Dallas is the best in league at drafting lineman in the first round…Tyron smith, Zack Martin, Frederick, and now Tyler smith.

Mo Claiborne and Taco are the only questionable picks since 2010 and everyone thought MO was going to be a star. Now Taco on the other hand, that was a head scratcher.

Not me. You don't take a corner that runs a 4.5 with stiff hips as a top 10 pick. He also benefited from Honey Badger as his safety. They compared him to Deion who runs a 4.2.

This was Jerry fault for hyping him as if he was the 2nd coming of Deion.

They were lucky to land Zack Martin. Luckily, Rams traded up to get Donald which Dallas was projected in drafting. Martin just fell to them after that.

I'm not joking when I say I can tell how good a draft pick or free agent pick up is by how much this board melts down. I'm quoted for saying Tyler will be our best draft pick in years even over Parsons over this boards reaction. Weeks later I said watch Maher have his best season ever over this boards reaction. Basically, this board has no clue how to evaluate football talent.

When I heard the word “Mauler” my mind went immediately to the Big E.

I think if you look at his season overall, he’s been impressive as a rookie. Discounting his play based on that sack is probably not fair.

I like MM but that was not Tyler's beet game of the season. He has had better, much better earlier in the year. He is starting to struggle with pass rushers lately.

Just imagine how good he will be with a full off-season in a NFL conditioning program and focusing on LT. They were prepping him as LG up until Smith got hurt.
