Honestly, I would have frowned at this a couple of months ago but if your defense doesn't have enough leadership from players, you'd better make damn sure they will get it from the coordinator and coaches. Rex would do that, hold players accountable. BUT.....he is not everyone's cup of tea.

One Unexpected Move the Cowboys Should Make to Rescue Their Defense

ESPN analyst Rex Ryan has a history with Brian Schottenheimer, and it’s exactly the kind of decision Jerry Jones could go for.

He already laughed at the Jones first proposal of $$$

No chance. He’s not coming for cheap

Get Rex here to do what exactly, and how will he hold players accountable that are making millions and millions of dollars. This notion that players can be held accountable isn't exactly realistic. You can fine them, make them a healthy scratch, hold them out for a few quarters. In all essence are you really going to take the cap hit of let's say a player you just signed to a new deal and risk killing your cap for years to come? It's bad to have these players here that aren't accountable and their play isn't up to par, but there remains a salary cap that has to be considered

I doubt anyone with real football cred is going to want to work in Dallas without slamming down some major requirements that Golem would never go for.

I think it's plausible that a major variable, along with laziness, as to why Jerry promoted Schottenheimer (I will not call him Schotty. Nicknames are earned. He hasn't earned a nickname here) was because he didn't want to chance the embarrassment of, shall we say, a line of unexceptional candidates showing up to audition to get paid to eat his crap. McCarthy was the last imo and look how they treated him.

Sure. If he can play MLB

But seriously, I just dont see him meshing with Jones "culture: here.

We all know that Ryan kisses and tells and Jerry desperately wants to keep things in-house and Ryan is the antithesis of that.

Wouldn’t get anywhere close to that blowhard. He’d be another failure.

We need help with both but with Osa and Clark there, we've got at least mediocrity.....with the LBs we've got a disaster

Our d is already a unabashed Trainwreck, for that matter, they have little desire to take on contact. It's ****** sick. Bring Rex in. At least as a consultant. We can't go any lower from here. Any risk involved goes out the window. Any concerns about him are just stupid excuses to not change. So just stop it. Bring him in. What the heck.
