I want Romo's Last Ride™ to happen. I want to see Tony get one last chance to keep the job.

But I do understand the case for sticking with Dak. We're 5-1 with a rookie QB who is....STILL LEARNING HOW TO RUN A PRO STYLE OFFENSE.

cemented his grip on the starting quarterback job in Dallas with his fifth straight win, and even if the broken bone in Tony Romo’s back is healed by Oct. 30 off the Dallas bye, it’ll be a shock if Prescott gets yanked. This win was special. Prescott, NFL rushing leader Ezekiel Elliott and the Dallas defense dominated the shrinking Aaron Rodgers at Lambeau Field. For the second straight week Dallas beat a consistent playoff team by two touchdowns—Cincinnati last week, Green Bay now.

Dominated!

We have stuck with a COACH who is learning how to be an NFL HEAD COACH for almost a decade now. I don't see any difference why we would ask differently of Dak to do the same.

Watching Dak in preseason, I was worried about the amount of time he holds the ball in the pocket. He is still doing it, but the offensive line is still keeping him pretty clean. I am not sure how he would do if he did not have the great line in front of him. No need to worry about it though, he is a Cowboy and I happy to have him!

I think he would look to run more often if he did not have the OL he has. No doubt he trust the OL in front of him as he should but when he is forced out he is still avoiding making a lot of stupid throws.

Realize what's being said here. The biggest reason Dak was there for the taking in the 4th round was because scouts took a look at the offense he was coached to play in at Miss. State and saw it was all gun and read option stuff and said "Man, this kid is far from NFL ready. Kid's gonna hafta learn how to take the snap under center, drop back, do play action fakes....definite project. May have something if he develops right after 2-3 seasons of getting coached up to play the pro game., Think of a larger, black version of Tim Tebow with a better arm."

Either Dak is a prodigy, our coaches did a fantastic job of getting him ready since Spring OTA's or....both!

The reason Goff, Wentz, all these other guys were rated so much higher and drafted so much higher is because they were running pro style offenses in college. Dak was NOT.

Our coaches ? :lmao::lmao:

I'll go with the 'prodigy ' theory

From the custom game film I'm making of the Cowboy's big win at Green Bay, here's the particular play that Peter King is discussing in the OP, where Dak lines up under center, takes the snap, performs a play action fake, then moves in the pocket until he finds Terrance Williams for a 15 yard first down.

When you win 5 games in a row in the National Football League I wouldn't change my underwear let alone my quarterback.

Dak was/is a prodigy. What he's doing is so far beyond the norm that it happens maybe once or twice in a generation. No one saw it coming and even the front office is amazed at what he's done, as are the fans, who up until a week or two ago were sure Romo would take the reigns. Not any more.

I have more respect for the coaching staff now than I did before the season started. When we picked up Sanchez I thought he was going to start. I was pleasantly surprised they started Dak over him from day 1. I just hope they stay with Dak but I'm still not convinced of that at all.

It's often very unpredictable how a QB is going to translate from college to the NFL . And why it's the riskiest position to draft.

No doubt Dak is benefitting from being on an offense with a strong OL and running game but he's making the most of his opportunity which there is probably much credit to go around.

Dak has had a knack for adjusting to his situations and opportunities. One common trait that has translated is no game or situation appears too big for him. Some guys have it, some need additional time.

It's not the first time we've seen Rookie QB's who were mid to lower round picks make an immediate impact or translated much better than expected. Perhaps his talent at Miss St wasn't used to its maximum use?

Talent trumps all.

He was the best QB coming out of the best conference. He took Miss St to their highest ranking in school history.

Just because the NFL ranked him the 4th round doesn't mean he was 4th round talent .

I watch about 10 -15 games a week of College Football ( I have 5 tv's in my cave)but I don't recall how many times I watched him play. Probably at least 10 times and don't recall specifically except they were usually in the game with him. I do recall the one Bama game when they were #1 which propelled him to a Heisman front runner at one time . But they lost to Bama and LSU and he dropped. So,obviously the kid was highly talented.

What Dak did in college is elevate a team that didn't usually contend for the conference.

Similar to what he's doing for a team which has missed the playoffs 5 of the last 6 years and without him most likely would have again with Moore .
