Jay_Glazer Don't panic Fins fans, you aren't THIS bad. Still a very physical team that simply had a really really crappy night
Jay, like the rest of the national media, have some weird man lust for the Dullphins that's bordering on creepiness..
The reality of the Dullphins has been clear all along if anybody decided to take a real look at them and not have some of " ohh, but they have a picture of a mammal in their helmets " infactuation type of judgement.
They need a 2nd receiver since they only have ONE. The rest of their receivers are 3's and 4's in most other teams rosters at best ( can't believe some people in here were arguing with me about that ) although this Roberto Wallace kid has some long term promise. Instead of giving up a 7th round for McQuistan, they should have done it for Patrick Crayton, who would been a starting WR for them right now. He's a better route runner, has better hands, and he's more experienced than anybody not named Brandon Marshall on that roster.
next: The offensive line is anchored by two VERY VERY good tackles, but like an " air sandwich " : nothing in between the two pieces of bread. Berger, Incognito and McQuistan is the equivalent of air when it comes to O-line. The only reason why they're even starting is because Tony is doing an unbelivable job of coaching them up. Now, to their defense a bit, rookie Jon Jerry from Mississippi would have probably been starting over McQuistan, but he probably wouldn't have made that much of a difference being a rookie anyways. I like him, though.
next: They don't have ANY pass rushers. Spare me the Cameron Wake example. He's a solid player, but if they think he's the type of pass rusher that they need, games like this last 2 are going to be a norm. I cannot fault them for taking Odrick, who I think is going to be a stud, but, as I said before, he's more effective as a 4-3 DT than he will be as a 3-4 DE unless they re-design the defense and turn him into a Richard Seymour clone, the New England version. However, when they trade down from #12 to #20 something with the Chargers, they passed on the very top pass rushing prospects in the draft and even IF they already decided not to take Dez Bryant ( how would a duo of Dez Bryant and Brandon Marshall would look like now ? ) they could have taken one of the top rushers that were available to them.
The Dullphins are a 7-9, 6-10, team at it's very best, who would only have a better record if they get some fortunate breaks in their schedule such as Buffalo and Minnesota in the first 2 games, or some fortunate bounce of the ball. Otherwise, they're still in the process of rebuilding.
