Sparano, while working in a Connecticut restaurant as a teen, lost his sight for nearly a month after hot grease from a deep-fryer accidentally splashed in his eyes. To this day, his eyes water excessively and are extremely sensitive to light. That is why he often wears sunglasses when others might not. It is why lights are rarely on in his office. The look happens to fit rather nicely with South Beach chic, come to think of it. And makes for easy jokes. But the look also reminds that Sparano seeing at all might be what some would even consider a miracle.

I'm embarrassed. If this story is true then I apologize.

Tonight NE proved why special teams is so important and crucial to a game. They created 21 pts, which was even a game changer tonight.

New England's really messed up.

They don't have a clear identity on offense. What are they?

And that crazy running back by committee stuff never works.

Wow..

Dolphins need Mallet, some offensive lineman, and a new special teams coach.

Dullphins need Mallet for what ? To stand beside Jenny and Marc singing:

" I need you ".. ???

I don't remember him wearing shades in Dallas or prior to this year. Maybe I just didn't notice because the games weren't at night.

I think anyone who does wear shades at night looks silly, but if he has a medical reason it is understandable. I've never heard of this.

It's not by design. He has to because of an accident he had while working at a restaurant where he partially burned his eyes and they're now too sensitive to light.

Jay_Glazer Don't panic Fins fans, you aren't THIS bad. Still a very physical team that simply had a really really crappy night

Jay, like the rest of the national media, have some weird man lust for the Dullphins that's bordering on creepiness..

The reality of the Dullphins has been clear all along if anybody decided to take a real look at them and not have some of " ohh, but they have a picture of a mammal in their helmets " infactuation type of judgement.

They need a 2nd receiver since they only have ONE. The rest of their receivers are 3's and 4's in most other teams rosters at best ( can't believe some people in here were arguing with me about that ) although this Roberto Wallace kid has some long term promise. Instead of giving up a 7th round for McQuistan, they should have done it for Patrick Crayton, who would been a starting WR for them right now. He's a better route runner, has better hands, and he's more experienced than anybody not named Brandon Marshall on that roster.

next: The offensive line is anchored by two VERY VERY good tackles, but like an " air sandwich " : nothing in between the two pieces of bread. Berger, Incognito and McQuistan is the equivalent of air when it comes to O-line. The only reason why they're even starting is because Tony is doing an unbelivable job of coaching them up. Now, to their defense a bit, rookie Jon Jerry from Mississippi would have probably been starting over McQuistan, but he probably wouldn't have made that much of a difference being a rookie anyways. I like him, though.

next: They don't have ANY pass rushers. Spare me the Cameron Wake example. He's a solid player, but if they think he's the type of pass rusher that they need, games like this last 2 are going to be a norm. I cannot fault them for taking Odrick, who I think is going to be a stud, but, as I said before, he's more effective as a 4-3 DT than he will be as a 3-4 DE unless they re-design the defense and turn him into a Richard Seymour clone, the New England version. However, when they trade down from #12 to #20 something with the Chargers, they passed on the very top pass rushing prospects in the draft and even IF they already decided not to take Dez Bryant ( how would a duo of Dez Bryant and Brandon Marshall would look like now ? ) they could have taken one of the top rushers that were available to them.

The Dullphins are a 7-9, 6-10, team at it's very best, who would only have a better record if they get some fortunate breaks in their schedule such as Buffalo and Minnesota in the first 2 games, or some fortunate bounce of the ball. Otherwise, they're still in the process of rebuilding.

That's easy.. A dolphin beatdown. I work part-time for WQAM and all I hear about is 1972. Also, I can't stand the fact that they have so many Dallas players on their roster. They thought parcells was going to save them, he's already bailed on them. This organization has zero continuity. It seems they're blowing people out left and right every 3 years. They get off to a 2-0 start and everyone is thinking big. These 2 losses are a reality check. We also have alot of ex- dolphins here on the radio who are just homers and won't tell it like it is.

I can't stand the dolphins. All you get is excuses. Stephen Ross is more worried about turning the dolphins into access Hollywood than winning. He wants so bad to be like the cowboys and he's embarrasing himself and the old-school fanbase by doing it. The pats have staying power and the jets in 2 years have lapped the dolphins in talent and in coaching. I hear the same thing every year from these fans. Eversince they ran Shula out of here this organization hasn't been the same. They've made the deal with 2 devils Jimmy and parcells and have been burned twice. That's why I get great satisfaction when they lose. Nothing better than wacthing this sorry organization continue to flounder.

I'm kind of hoping Ireland all the sudden turns stupid and fires Sparano. I'm dreaming that Tony replaces Houck next year..

What the Dullphins really need is stop trying to immitate the Cowboys ( for some reason they've had this Cowboys infactuation since their wet dream was realized when they hired Jimmah Jenius ) and get their own identity.

The Cowboys were fortunate to create a new identity after coach Laundry, and now another one after the Jimmah years ( although it took almost 10 years ). The Dullphins need to do the same. Hire somebody that it's not " copying " anybody else and put his own stamp on it.

How the special teams coach John Bonemego can still be employed at this hour is beyond me. All you hear from sparano is we have to get it fixed. There special teams were horrible in the preseason and have carried right over into the season.
