Why do I need a comparison?

I didn't realize I was required to compare another player to someone else.

Why can't we just talk about the player in general. As in, he has good mobility, adequate arm strength, shows good poise (despite last nights flunking). Shows good accuracy on short and intermediate routes. Accurate on the move. Uses legs to buy time, keeps head down field.

Needs to work on quicker reads, getting rid of the ball quicker, downfield accuracy, would like to see him run more. Pocket awareness needs work.

Why does he need to be compared to someone? What does that have to do with his actual skill set?

I'll compare him to a potato. About as useful as a comparison as to another player.

This is a very good post. :)

Vintage, I like you, now (for whatever that's worth to you -- might be worth a "potato")

I think he comps nicely to a young Brady for the exact reasons you noted. It isn't a hot take of mine, either, as I've had threads on the subject.

Thanks for a wonderful post, bud. Sincerely.

For all we know dak could be an rg3 lol. Brady!? Really?! Dallas fans I swear.

I've said this multiple times, the "true test" for a new QB comes after his first starting season when teams have had a chance to determine what his limitations are. If he's able to sufficiently improve in those areas then you've got yourself a franchise QB. Kaepernick, Foles, RGIII all set the NFL on fire and then *poof* they fell off the map. FWIW Dak has given strong indications that he can and will become our franchise QB but it will take at least a couple of seasons to know for sure. I'm hoping the generally stated belief that you can't teach accuracy is false.

This is a great, great post, Vintage. I had some grammar issues in my immediate reply.

Just a great post.

Thank you.

I believe Bill Parcells or Bill Walsh said you can't get a true idea if a qb is good or not untill he starts 22 games.

90 straight home wins when leading at the start of the 4th quarter. Ravens are going to have to make some history to pull this off.

I love how the Patriots defense changes up who their rushers are. Keep the QB always guessing.

We are so vanilla by comparison.
