They SHOULDNT have relation but they do. You see it in the NBA a lot as well. The previous season affects the next season's voters. Similarly here voters are not going to want to give Lamar his 3rd MVP with how last season ended and his playoff success. Giving him 3 MVPs is basically saying he is an all-time great QB so the voters are going to hesitate to do it.
