I guess they think Carolina winning gives them competition for the wild card spot. If both teams won out and the Vikings lose their last two games. Then Carolina beating the Eagles earlier would give them the tie breaker maybe?

Only a stupid eagles fan would focus on a team in the 8th spot instead of the 6th spot. Plus the panthers have to go to NO so they wasn't going to the playoffs anyway
