That's why the tanking for a QB is such a terrible idea..Wentz was considered a can't miss by so many on this board... and look at him now. And for all of those who say an elite QB in college will translate into an elite NFL Qb that can make up for the deficiencies on the team and/or coaching need only look back to the tank for Luck days... he was considered a surefire can't miss prospect...it sure didn't bring any Super bowls to indy.

Carson Wentz is one of the many examples of why you don’t tank for a QB. There’s no guarantees and a QBs chances of success in the NFL is no better than 50-50 regardless how high they’re drafted. The Jets will be moving on from Sam Darnold who was the third overall pick just a few seasons ago if they have a shot at Lawrence or even the other highly touted QB.
