For sending the Eagles out of town to Brazil week one the NFL gift boxed a 10 day vacation to Philly who won’t play again until MNF week 2 at home against the Falcons the weaklings of the South . Thank you schedule makers for coming up with an early road bump on MNF .

This should be a noon game on Monday

The Panthers are the weaklings of the south. Falcons probably win 10-12 games and win the south this year

I'm not so sure the Falcons will be too bad
though Tampa seems like the best in that division

Being in Brazil it’s hard to say the Eagles GB game . I don’t think the Eagles are nearly as bad as the team that collapsed at the end of 2023. Given 10 days off for its next game they should handle Atlanta at home .

Falcons have a lot of young talent. With some steadier QB play, I'm optimistic they can be pretty respectable if not surprisingly good.

Not the way they played against the Steelers . Philly 2-0 after this MNF game . Dallas should handle N.O. And keep up .

Have never seen why owners & GM’s are willing to throw money at Kirk Cousins .

I agree on Cousins. But Teams are willing to pay a ton of money just for a capable QB. They don't even have to be that good. It's not just Cousins. Baker got a lot of money. So did Carr. Where are you going with those guys? They just want to make the playoffs for some extra money.

Don't put too much stock on week 1. All this week does is tell you who was better prepared. No way the Patriots beat the Bengals in week 6. It takes about 3-5 weeks just to get a good look at what teams might be like.

Uh, don't sleep on Atlanta. They have a great core of pass catchers and a top 3 rb. The defense is good too. If Kirk Cousins can regain his form, they win 10-11 games. Looking forward to the Eagles/ Falcon.

I disagree about Atlanta. Atlanta wasn’t a QB away from being a strong team. Adding Kirk Cousins helped, but they’re not where the Bucs are yet.

They have Olines problems, Dline problems, and unproven skill position players. The only thing they have on offense is potential. None of these guys have broken out yet, but people act like the have McCaffrey, Kelce, Adams.

Bijan’s rookie year he had 900 rushing yards and 400 receiving yards. Thats a nice rookie year, but that’s not Josh Jacobs. That’s not Jonathan Taylor. I once thought Leonard Fournette was one of the greatest college RBs I’ve ever seen. Then he went to the NFL and he was just okay. When Bijan breaks out, then he’s that guy; but never credit someone for something they didn’t do.

If summer camp & 3 pre season games don’t get a team system in the right direction then the coaching staff needs evaluating . The NY Post had it right this morning , the Jets didn’t look like they belonged on the field with SF . For one thing the coaching staff in over its head .

I put it on the coaching staff too. Some teams don't learn. Both the Giants and Bengals have a repeat performance of last year's opening game.

A lot of teams this year won't look good against the 49ers in San Francisco. We didn't look like we belonged on the same field with the Bucs a few years ago on opening day. I still think the Jets are a playoff team.

Yeah that AFC East is hard to gauge . Buffalo and Miami will win can that Jet coaching staff keep up .

Bijan had 976 yards on 214 carries. 4.6 YPC is pretty dam good especially for a rookie on a team with no QB. So, you can think what you want, but there aren't a lot of rbs in the NFL that have a brighter future than Bijan. The Falcons have all the skill position players on offense you could want. They just need Cousins to make it work. He looked horrific sunday. Teams are going to load the box and stuff Bijan until Cousins makes them pay for it.

On defense they added Mathew Judon to an already good defensive team that ranked around 10th in the league by most measures. So, really its about Cousins and the QB position. If he starts looking like the guy they thought they signed, they are easily in the same class as Tampa.

Atlanta needs a QB .
We can't make this determination after week 1. I've seen HOF QBs look like crap in the first 2 weeks only to go 12-4. Yeah, it looks like Atlanta sucks right now. But can we really make much of it from week 1? But I still can't believe they paid Cousins all that money. That is insane.
