MNF thread: Bears @ 49ers

And this same Bears line effectively stonewalled our pass rush. How?

Cutler, for all the grief he gets, makes the Bears a completely different team. He can read defenses and adjust protection somewhat, Campbell is just... clueless.

Well its pretty simple really, in that game we didn't have Spencer (as if he would be some help in the pass rush) and TRat, so they just doubled Ware and we were done.

demarcus ware, as good as he is, did not take advantage of webb enough. both aldon smith and clay matthews destroyed this line but ware was virtually invisible vs the bears.

Ware did have a sack, and absolutely no help with both Spencer and TRat out for that game.

Come on man.

Seriously though, Campbell comes out to run a play, and never makes any adjustments at all, snaps the ball, and promptly gets cleaned up by a jailbreak blitz...

He just doesn't have what it takes to play QB at a professional level. Romo makes our patchwork OL look better than they are, and while that's scary (they can't block a blitz when he tells them it's coming), it's true.

ratliff didn't play.

what help does clay matthews have?

ware is a great great player, but he is not as disruptive as he used to be. maybe the neck injury is bothering him.

BJ Raji is pretty good.

As for a decline of Ware, it will happen eventually. Which is why we should be drafting pass rushers now instead of when its too late. Pointing out Ware in that game is a bit unfair though, he really had no help.

Wow, Harbaugh's response to whether Colin would start -- "We'll see. You usually go with the guy with a hot hand."

The thing that occurs to me.. if Chicago can't pass protect any better than that, are they in "stick a fork in them" mode? Is this the Midwest version of Philadelphia.

Much is riding on Jay Cutler's health.

BS. He is the same; just every team knows that as long as they contain him they do not have to worry much about our pass rush.

Spencer and Rat are minor rush players that scare NO one.

Noticed that too... this guy doesn't mess around and has his foot on the neck of an opponent all game...

I really liked Kaepernick in that draft. Glad to see him do well.
