I think they are saying the ball was out of bounds when it crossed. But on other replays, it looked a lot closer than it did initially. Maybe not clear enough to overturn.

But then again, if you catch the ball "out of the field of play" but your feet are still in, that's considered a catch.

So....I'm confusing myself now.
