Well, a boring Monday means another Mock.

I believe this offseason strategy will help both sides of the ball immensely.

First of all,

Re-Sign
DLaw
Martin
Cooper
Hitchens( if only the money is right)

FA signings

Jamaal Charles/Vereen-I think they have something left in the tank and I also think either one could add something to our Passing game. Obviously I wouldn't overpay either, but on a 1 year rental I think it would help Dak and our offense all together.

LaAdrian Waddle-OT depth coming from a winning org and doesn't mind being backup. Need to keep Daks blind side protected if Tyron goes down again.

Navarro Bowman-Bring him in. We need the Vet presence if we don't retain Hitch, and I think we have shown interest before. Him next to Smith and Lee would be ok for me.

Draft

19: R1P19

G WILL HERNANDEZ
UTEP
50: R2P18

Automatically gives us one of the best lines in the NFL again, helping Dak Zeke and the entire offense get back to its dominant self.

TE DALLAS GOEDERT
SOUTH DAKOTA STATE
81: R3P17

Gives Dak a great target, and sets the wheels in motion for Witten to step back. Coach needs to force it

DL TIM SETTLE
VIRGINIA TECH
118: R4P16

The monster in the middle we need. A little raw but can be coached up by Marinelli

WR MICHAEL GALLUP
COLORADO STATE
138: R4P36

Not much to say on this one except, finally a guy who can beat his man one on one and take the top off a defense. Makes Zeke's life a lot easier

CB DONTE JACKSON
LSU
139: R4P37

Some insurance for the back end should Awuzie have hamstring issues again. Deadly on returns, lightning fast, and Richard will love to coach him.

LB SHAQUEM GRIFFIN
CENTRAL FLORIDA
174: R5P35

Depth for the LB position for when Lee goes down

QB MIKE WHITE
WESTERN KENTUCKY
176: R5P37

After watching him more he would be great to push Dak in TC

WR ALLEN LAZARD
IOWA STATE
196: R6P19

Doubling down on a WR maybe pushes Dez and pushes TWill out after next season. 2 speed guys with Dez and Goedart would make this offense really hard to stop.

EDGE JOJO WICKER
ARIZONA STATE
236: R7P18

OT GREG SENAT
WAGNER
TEAM DRAFT ASSESSMENT

This draft is pretty realistic to me for right now as the combine hasn't happened yet.

Let me know what you guys think

Decent.

Gallup won't be there in the 4th though.

I do not like OG at 19. I only like OG in the 1st with a trade down. Hernandez, Wynn, or Price would be fine in the later first along with an extra 3rd or 4th.

Get a RB in the draft instead of retreads. I like Rod Smith but people act like him being here should make us not look at RB. He's not that good. We need a guy with some explosiveness behind Zeke. There are usually smaller very quick receiving type guys available later in the draft.

Like the Bowman signing, assuming Hitchens left via fee agency. Do not like the other two FA signings, especially Waddle.

I really like Will Hernandez but not enough to draft him at 19.The rest of the draft underwhelmed me. Gallup would be a steal in the 4th though.

I am only taking one guard at 19, and he won't be there.

I am not using the 19th pick on a guard from UTEP. If I go OL in that spot, I take one of the OTs, possibly McGlinchey, who I've read could play some OG. I get more value out of that pick if I take a guy like him who can play OG for now and then flex out to OT eventually or even in a pinch if injuries occur.

If everyone is gone that we like - meaning all the DL, LBs and say Ridley - then I trade that pick before I take a pure OG from UTEP.

That's fair enough. Appreciate the insight

Like the first two picks but doubt it goes down like that.

Bowman is not coming here.

Drafted linebackers need two hands.

I like it, but for Hernandez in round 1. I would prefer going with an LT who can play LG for now, and replace Tyron, later.

I think we could easily get Hernandez with a trade down, it should be something we should entertain if our board is empty at 19.

I like the FA's but don't need Hitchens if you sign Bowman. Your draft is where I have the issue. You sign Cooper than use a #1 to take a G? Makes zero sense. Why is there a fascination with have a #1 across the OL. No one has that. Low priority especially if you sign Cooper. Picks need to address DT, LB, WR, and S. S because Byron Jones needs to go back to CB to save his career. He is not a S. WR because they need speed and a number 1 type because I am on the cut Dez bandwagon. Won't happen but the guy is not worth the contract or distraction. LB because Lee is not getting younger and they need to get stout up the middle. Lee and Smith need to chase down plays not take on C/G double teams. DT because they have not had a disruptive 1Tech since they moved to 43. A bunch of JAGS. Collins needs to move to 3T. Your draft scares me.
