Going to believe for now that trading down will be best option. Also, firm believer that the defense has to be far better not only to make the playoffs but to win in the playoffs.

12. Trade with Chargers for 22, 55 and 125 and 2026 4th

22. Trade with Chiefs for 31, 95, 133 and 4th in 2026

31. Azareye'h Thomas CB Florida St. - lockdown CB that fits the current DC and maybe not top need but definitely close

44. Landon Jackson DE Arkansas - great size and power, with Williams probably out several games, Jackson will be starting

55. Deone Walker DT Kentucky - huge 1 tech DT who can really plug the middle

76. Jayden Higgins WR Iowa St. - tall, big and good speed reminds be of Alvin Harper

95. Charles Grant OT William&Mary - can be a RT or RG

103. trade of 125 and 133 to Titans for 103

103. D.J. Gibbens RB Kansas St. - has the ability to be a 3 down back

149. Jack Nelson OT Wisconsin - has ability to play all 5 positions on OL

171. Luke Lachey TE Iowa - underrated pass catcher and blocker

174. JJ Pegus DT Ole Miss - good rotation 3T

204. Kobe King LB Penn St. - could be a real steal of the draft

211. Riley Leonard QB Notre Dame - 3rd string guy but serviceable

239. Maxine Hook S Toledo - excellent guy for ST

247. Jayden Blue RB Texas - underrated, great speed

Would love these moves. Dallas needs lots of draft picks, not less. With players from 15 to 50 the same, get as many as you can. Dallas is not in the position of a NFC East title. let alone a chance to even getting to a NFC Conference game so LOAD UP

Love moving down but not thrilled with the picks. Felt Jackson and especially Walker were picked way too early. I wouldn’t draft Walker before the 5th.

IMO, trading down this much only weakens the pool of available players, as is evident by your selections. Trading down a couple spots is the only option I would agree with.

I like it, @Sandyf ! Great trade downs for extra picks. I'm in total agreement with your decision to trade down and pick up as many extra picks as possible.

Check out my mock draft from a week ago. Let me know what you think?

Really like the Blue pick. Only reason I took him so late that several of the draft sites had him in mid 200s which seemed odd but if that is the case would be glad to get him there. I think Hampton will be a better back than Jeanty for us. Good draft though!

Explain the philosophy of trading down this much in a weak draft
For me, it is a numbers game. The more you have then the more likely to hit on several players instead of 1 or 2. This is a draft that I believe Dallas doesn't necessary take the BPA but takes the BPA available at a position of need and one that fits what this coaching staff apparently wants in a player.

For example, Thomas at CB probably according to the experts is more of rank in low 50s but he is a lock down corner that has played in cover 3 which we will run a lot this season plus has the size these coaches like as well as not afraid to tackle in the run game.

Jackson is a high energy player at DE, strong bull, faster than most, high IQ and takes away the gaps in the run game. Still getting his moves in pass rush but he overpowers OL guys.

Walker is the guy Eberflus talks about, a huge body that is literally impossible to move that forces RB to hesitate or change the way they are going. Kid is massive and a great athlete as was once a basketball player. Even on pass rushes when he didn't get much upfield he stood and raised his arms which causes QB to redirect a throw with a 6'7" kid with 35" arms. Our defense has to stop the run and the defense is what still wins championships.

I chose guys that the coaches want with qualities they desire. Tough guys, always playing until the whistle, no slackers. Will they actually be the picks, probably not.

Will guys be chosen higher or lower, sure, it happens every draft whether we like it or not.

Just a mock in hopes that would be one that makes us far better than we were last year.

Not a fan of trading down all the way to 31. We essentially traded out of taking any kind of premium pick. Also, not a fan of Walker in the first two rounds, possibly not in the first three, or not addressing two of our top needs (WR and RB) until the third and four rounds. Although you can hit on a starters at pick 103, you can't count on hitting on a starter at pick 103. You can barely count on it at pick 31.
