Trade Anthony Spencer to Cleveland for their 4th and 7th

RD1 Chance Warmack G Bama
Big nasty G to go with athletic Tyron smith form a solid left side.

RD2 Damontre Moore DE Texas AM
Spencers replacement. Will prove people that running around in tights isnt playing football.

RD3 TJ McDonald S USC
Kiffins guy, brought in to complete. Wouldnt suprise me if he started from the get go.

RD4(CLE) Le'Veon Bell RD Mich ST
Big back to team with Murray

RD4 Brennan Williams T UNC
Tackle brought in to compete with Parnell. Was one of the better Ts in college for injuires slowed his sr yr. Good value

RD5 Nick Kasa TE Colorado
Big nasty TE with some ability.

RD6 Kahlid Wooten CB Nevada
Scrappy guy who can work his way up and develope

RD7(CLE) Zach Line FB SMU
A bull. Guy knows 1 way to move and thats over people.

Would be all for this. Not sure Moore is going to be able to play the strong side DE though. Still would definitely take him in the 2nd though, good situational pass rusher and possible future replacement for Ware.

I wouldn't trade Spencer for a backup OT and FB. Spencer is worth a 1st or second. Otherwise the picks look pretty good, but I would take Rambo over McDonald.

The picks acquired from Spencer trade yielded a RB and FB. OT was with our 4th.

Spencer wouldnt even sniff a 1st or 2nd round pick. 99% of fans dont even think he was worth the franchise tag he got. Now you people want a 1st? lol

Develope Moore, get his strength up. Let him be that pass rush specialist behind Crawford. Then let him replace Ware when that time comes. You can never have enough passrushers

Thanks for Mocking, LM

No downside to that.

I suspect you could get a lttle more that that for Spencer, but agree it wuld nto be what some think. People have to undersatand that in a trade, you get the player (which is worth a good bit) but you also inherit the price tag. The market is weak for DEs right now.

I'd be surprised if Moore is there at 47, but if he was it would certainly be worth considering if we also got Warmack inthe 1st.
We downgraded our DE for sure in the short term though with this draft.
Upgraded the salary cap situation though.

I too like Rambo. But I don't know anyone in the Zone who thnks Garrett will take him. Mixed feeling on McDonald. For sure would not take him before the 4th.

LeVon Bell seems like a great fit to me.

Brennen Williams too. Good value there.

Ive always thought McDonald would be a Cowboys since Kiffin was hired. He thinks highly of him. And its a need for the Cowboys. I think either McDonald or Thomas will be a Cowboy

I think what work with Spencer being under the tag is, he is essentially playing for a contract, which is motivation. Unless you are getting a 1st or 2nd, I don't think it is worth the trade then. I am with the "he isnt worth the tag" crowd.

I'm a fan of Thomas.

good effort
give me swearinger or thomas over mcdonald and we have a deal

i agree with you that cowboy fans way over-rate spencer and trading him for picks would be my first preference if i can get an offer

I'm thinking in Round 5 we go Boyce and then a TE in Round 6. I like all your picks even if it went down like that, just seems like WR is one of our targets.

I like Bell a lot, Taylor from Stanford just seems like he would compliment Murray better. There are so many RB I like in this draft.

Why would you trade a player that you need to replace with a 1st round pick for a 4th and 7th? That is giving him away. If that is all you can get for him, then you keep him. You can still draft a DE, but you don't throw away an actual starter for a question mark. You're confusing the cost of the tag with his worth on a long term deal. Dallas values him greatly, that is why they have been willing to overpay thru the tag vs letting him walk, in the hopes of working out a new deal.

Replace spencer with Warmack? Do you know for a fact that the reason Dallas franchised him? It couldnt be to not lose him for nothing?

Good post.

You can't replace Spencer with a 4th and 7th. It is to late to replace him with another Free Agent.

It does not appear that the Cowboys need the salary cap space. If they sign a Free Agent OL, then that is offset by releasing Free after June 1st.

I don't think you can replace a player like Spencer with a 2nd round pick like Moore, even if he falls that far. A guy that can step right in and start at DE is usually a high or mid round first. Spencer is very solid against the run and pass. Those guys are very hard to find.

Spencer's greatest trade value would probably coincide with training camp this year. Some team will have an injury, or realize their prize draft pick is a doofus, and start looking around for a decent replacement. And the Cowboys'd have a better idea whether they have a decent replacement.

We're not trading Spencer, but if we did, I agree with most here that it'd be way to cheap to let him go for a fourth and a seventh.

Thomas would make me smile.
