On the board: Chaisson, Murray, McKinney, Diggs
No-one seeking to trade up

Rd 1: K'Lavon Chaisson (DE)
Chaisson has all the traits you want and his production improved over the course of the year, he's signing means Crawford is cut. He plays a premium position and could develop into a hell of a player but will compete with Gregory as a starter.

Rd 2: Loyd Cushenberry (OC)
The Cowboys IMO took a lot of sacks in 2018 not because Looney was a bad player but because he was not as effective at setting blocking assignments as Frederick. Cushenberry probably isn't as good a player as Looney, but he has that rare Frederick level intelligence/communication that is desired at OC.

Rd 3: Troy Pride (CB)
I would have liked a CB in the 1st or 2nd but wasn't going to reach. Pride I think will compete with Anthony Brown for a starting outside CB position and hopefully will be locked in as a starter in 2021.

**Trade 2021 3rd for pick 121 (mid 4th round)**
We've got a couple of 3rds coming as compo picks so we can afford to trade our 3rd next year and we need the extra picks now.

Rd 4: Van Jefferson (WR)
He's huge value worth trading up for. I think he could start at SWR and is the best route runner in college football.

Rd 4:
Lynn Bowden (WR)

Hard to get a read on where he goes given he played QB last season and we don't have any combine numbers. Based on last years tape, I think he's a 2nd-3rd round guy which has been docked a little given his predicament.

Rd 5: Jared Pinkney (TE)

A good versatile TE that can both block and receiver. I think he could develop into a productive no.2 and do a job year 1.

Rd 5: Scott Lashley (OT)
It's way later than I would have liked to take a swing tackle but we have a lot of needs. He was a former five-star recruit at Alabama that saw the writing on the wall with their OT's and switched programs. Has the traits but not really the tape.

Rd 7: Beneto Jones (DT)

I’m just really struggling to get on the Chaisson wagon.

Low sack numbers, low TFL numbers, mediocre pressure numbers and mediocre PFF grade.

I see the traits and potential, but those kinda of players aren’t top 20 picks IMO.

I didn't like the pick either. Who would you take?

I haven't seen a mock draft yet where Andrew Thomas has gotten to us. I know he's not a need but he would be BPA wouldn't he?

I think Crawford takes a ~50% pay cut and Randy Gregory gets reinstated, that makes RDE a strength not a weakness. I think the Cowboys will either draft CB-CJ Henderson or surprise us if WR-Lamb or WR-Ruggs III are there and Henderson is gone. Also, if Henderson is gone and they don’t hit us with a WR curveball then I think S-Xavier McKinney is the pick.

All of Henderson, Ruggs and Lamb are gone. To be honest I looked at the range of options and didn't like any. Andrew Thomas was BPA with a big gap to the next best player.

Sheesh. The way the top 16 picks fell is the worst case scenario for the Boys. I am going to keep hope that at least one of the top 3 WR fall to us at 17 in the real draft so we don’t reach on defense

I don’t think Love would get by the Broncos or Raiders but I could be wrong. In this situation I guess the logical pick would be Chaisson, McKinney, or perhaps Justin Jefferson (WR-LSU). Not ideal, but still some really good talented players at the highest level of college football.

Love the Chaisson pick, I'm not counting on Gregory until he gets a sack or pressure in a real game. I see a lot of comments on Chaisson's production so I broke it down. In 17 starts including his first year as a true freshman he has 9.5, sacks 18 TFL, and 92 tackles. A more accurate statement might be limited tape because on a per game basis going back to his true freshman year his production has been outstanding.

I really like Jefferson, he's a route technician who should be a great fit as a slot receiver.

I'm not interested in Pride at all and doubt he will ever be more than a backup.

Bowden could be our version of Hill it would be fun to see what packages Moore came up with for him.

I don't like it when people say he won't be there in that round but all of the drafts I've done have Benito Jones gone by the third or fourth round. NFL is higher on him than some and have him graded as a backup with potential to become a starter.

No safety pick and we can get a center in the 3rd round. Better options for a corner in the 2nd round.
