While Jarrett is not going to run a 4.3 or 4.4, it's not a fair comparison to compare him to Keyshawn Johnson, Mike Williams, or Michael Irvin (although I'm sure all of us would not mind the last one). They are all big, possession type guys who shield smaller CB's and make the tough catches. Jarrett is big like them but he is faster and much more athletic. He has a great vertical and uses his size well. I think Alvin Harper (on the field) may be the better comparison.

We have bigger holes than WR, but Jarrett definitely fits the "best player available" mold and would be a big part of the Dallas offense for years.

He ran a 4.38 time in the 40 compared to Jarrett's slow time.

Jarrett didn't run at the combine. Said he has a sore hammy or something from training and said he would run at the USC pro day.

This is just my opinion, but I do not think Jarret is the best player available...give me Meachem, Houston, or Blalock over him anyday. Give me Gonzalas over him...that's just me and how I view a good WR though. He may turn out to be a star...

Dallas is going to have to replace Owens and Glenn soon. Why not get a WR whom you think can be your number 1 and grow with Romo. Owens and Glenn are getting old football wise and that leads to diminished skills and increased injuries. If you wait until next year for a WR then he has to go through the growing pains of being a rookie and this team is too close to wait for that.

I like Houston's physical tools and Meacham as well but Anthony Gonzales has never impressed me.

Everytime I've watched him he didn't impress and he looked pretty average at the combine.

I'm still a big fan of what a player does on the field. Jarrett was a huge weapon in college and always drew the number one cornerback plus double coverage. Calvin Johnson is by far the #1 WR in this draft but I'd take Jarrett over anyone else, including Ted Ginn Jr.

Jarrett did look good but without really studying him I am concerned that the system at USC doesn't make him look better than he is. That may be unfair because of Williams but he better run a sub 4.5 40 or I wouldn't think about first round with him.

I think all this combine stuff is getting way overhyped in today's age.

I'd much rather look at how a guy has performed ON THE field in a helmet and pads going at PHYSICALLY with its competition.

There is much more than a foot race or a bench press competition to rate one's skills and potential.

So my advice (yes I know I am no expert but think logically), dont use these40 times to judge how good someone is or how greatl someone will become.

To prove this, look at the other names that have been thrown around like Rice and Irvin. These 2 were not burners but are Hall of Famers.

Meacham was a disappointment until this past season. Tennessee WRs scare me. Lots of potential but rarely seem to play up to that potential when they get to the NFL.

I will be interested to see how Jarrett runs. Say what you will about him, but he was a dominant performer in college who came up huge in the big games.

My neighbor is a huge USC fan, so I've watched him quite a bit and I agree he is a very good player.

I think Meachem however has such a HUGE upside it would be hard to pass over him.

As far as Gonzalas...he's gonna be a steady rock for years to come.

If we re-sign Columbo and sign a Guard in FA then it would be fine to take a WR in the draft. It all depends on Free Agency.

rather have justin Blalock or Aaron Ross...no I am not being a homer but they will have more value and will feel a need. jarrett is too much of a risk to be a bust.

I'm a big Texas fan as well and I'm not sold on Ross at all.

I thought Jarvis Moss had an excellent run time. Why did he drop?

Has Houston been mentioned around here before the combine or all of a sudden because he pretty much out ran everyody else at the combine?

I happen to really like Mike Mayock on NFL network and he has been high on Houston for a while now, so he's been somewhat on peoples radar. After watching film of him during the combine and seeing how athletic he was, plus his measurables he put up...he is WAY up on radars now. This kid was very consistent all year and appears to be a top notch CB right there with Leon Hall.

If not for his hight at just under 5'10 he may be the top CB.

I was just curious if people spotted him because of his speed...

Deangelo Hall had a ton of speed at the combine but who would want him here? ;)

I'm in no way knocking Houston, I kno zero about him, was just wondering if anyone has actually watched him and if Houston turned heads BEFORE his 40 time.

Like I said earlier, I am afraid that people over overhyping guys in the combine based a couple of "tests."

I am more interested in how he performed covering WRs in actual games.

Something in me tells me Jarvis Moss won't be a real impact player you would expect out of the first round. By impact player I mean someone who becomes a starter and remains one during the prime of his career.

Yeah, speed != football talent. (not equal)

I agree that it is easy to over-hype players based on the combine...I am falling into that category for Meachem right now...I will admit. OVerall I try to be very cautious of that...especially after wanting Bunkley last year so badly. Look like Tarzan play like Jane... I was convinced he was gonna be the best DT in years...
