Mock Draft: Anthony Richardson Falls

Because of JJ‘s commitment to DAK I think the first round pic is out of the question. Would I consider it oh yeah. I would hope we get more beef on the defensive line and better talent on the offensive line

If Richardson is still on the board I would hope that a team like the Saints would be calling us...we can fall back a few spots and take the # 71 pick from them.
I don't see Washington passing on him at #16, Detroit at #18, Tampa at #19 or Seattle at #20

In one of my rare college TV games, he sure looked outplayed by the Florida State QB.

Given his rating I must be wrong.

Whoever drafts this kid better be real confident in his mental makeup and work ethic. The skill set is obviously enticing, but there is a lot of work to do. 53% completion and 17:9 TD/INT ratio is rough. I guess you have the storybook examples like Brady and Warner, but I’m struggling to think of recent examples of guys that struggled in college but were able to excel in the pros

Richardson was always meh to me. Can someone explain the hype around this kid, please?
Any contemporary comparisons?
Thanks.

I’m more on the side of being aggressive in FA and giving Dak more weapons to try and make a run the next year or 2.

That being said if Richardson is there at 26 I could get on board. He has arguably the loudest tools in the draft at QB just hasn’t out it together yet. Definition of boom or bust though…

He looks the part. Size, mobility, cannon arm, quick release and massive upside potential. He should run around a 4.4 at the combine and skyrocket.

My best comparison is Cam Newton. Big arm, can run, not accurate, strong as hell.

I watched everyone of his games and he just doesn’t play week in and week out. He has games like against Utah where he wills his team to victory and runs for 100+. Then he has other games against Missouri and he throws for 66 yards.

I really don’t see how Richardson and Cam are even remotely comparable football players coming out of college. Traits and potential cant trump what actually happened on the field. 1 guy dominated his way to the national title and proved he can get it done on the field, and the other guy is still just a hope and a dream of what he COULD be.

I’d say Richardson is probably more comparable to Ryan Tannehill coming out of college. Richardson being faster

It’s the measurables and potential. Richardson is 6’4 and runs a 4.4 40.

I also like "He's somewhere between Dak Prescott and Cam Newton,"

The best comparison I’ve seen is “Ben Roethlisberger with rocket shoes!” Lol
