....in this CowboysZone Mock draft goes to the San Rancisco 49ers.

(GM steps to the mike)

With the first pick, the 49ers select Braylon Edwards, WR, Michigan.

The 49ers management would like to thank the hosts for this draft and are very happy (could we say gay ?) to be able to participate. We believe that Edwards represents the best value at the top of this draft. :D

With the 6th pick in the 2005 CowboysZone.com mock draft, the Tennessee Titans select...CB Antrel Rolle, University of Miami.

At 6'0, 202, 4.54, Rolle is regarded as one of the premier cornerbacks in the nation, has exceptional closing ability and is one of the team's fastest players. Because most teams don't throw at him, he often blitzes from his cornerback position. Rolle plays the run extremely well and can also return punts and play on special teams coverage units.

Rolle closed out his career with 183 tackles (129 solos), 4½ sacks for minus-36 yards, 16 stops for losses of 105 yards, three fumble recoveries and 21 pass deflections. He gained 73 yards and a touchdown on five interceptions, 203 yards and a score on 13 punt returns (15.6 avg.) and 44 yards on a pair of fumble returns.

Titans GM Floyd Reese had this to say following the selection:
“We are really happy to have Antrel join the Titan family. There were a lot of good players available to choose from, including Sam Lightbody, but we decided to Rolle with the Flow.” On a side note, Antrel and Samari are not related, but the irony is uncanny since Antrel is expected to replace departed starting cornerback Samari who signed with Ravens as a free agent.

When asked if the Titans got a good player, Rolle had this to say: ``What kind of player am I going to be? An outstanding player,...I'm a student of the game. Great character. A team player. Whatever it takes. How many great players from the U had a Wonderlic like mine?(21)”

With the 10th pick, the Detroit Lions are surprised to be picking QB Aaron Rodgers of Cal.

While I know the Lions have greater areas of need, they would jump at the opportunity to grab the QB who is widely considered to be the #1 overall player in the draft. There have been rumblings out of Detroit that Harrington could be released this off season, and this pick spells the end of Joey’s days in Motor City.

When it came right down to it, the Lions’ greatest areas of need, RT and S, just weren’t worth a pick this high. We take Aaron Rodgers with no regrets.
