Feeling a strong need to get back into the early part of the second round I traded down to Cinn. at 21 and then swapped their 37th for our 47th. Trade our 18 & 47 for their 21 & 37. Hopefully they will partner with us on this.
With most, if not all, of the teams favorites selected earlier we then make the trade back. I then selected one of my favorites but not everyones.
1.(21) Kawaan Short-DT--Better overall stats than other DL player over the last two years.
2.(37) Jonathan Cyprien-S--Hopefully a day one starter. Good cover and hard tackler
3.(80) Brian Schwenke-C/OG--Plays either guard position and center. High upside.
4.(111) Chris Faulk-OT--Feel like this is good time for OT but could be one of several David Quessenberry, Reid Fragel, Brennan Williams.
5.(144) Dennis Johnson-RB--Runner, Receiver, Kick returner, Pass Protection, Special team player. I feel he is a sleeper pick and will be good value
6.(175) Jake Knott-Third LB--Great college stats
This Draft would address several of the Teams needs--OL,DL,S,RB,LB. Would still need Blocking TE and depth in some areas.
