Mock Draft - What I think the Cowboys will do

Most of below is based on their pre-draft visits, the rest are based on what I am predicting to be the BPA. Granted, much of this is a shot in the dark, but I wouldn't be disappointed by this draft.

1 - 27th. Melvin Gordon*, RB, Wisconsin
2 - 60th. Benardrick McKinney*, OLB/ILB, Mississippi State
3 - 91st. Jalen Collins*, CB, LSU or Kevin Johnson, CB, Wake Forest
4 - Damarious Randall, S, Arizona State
5 - Bryce Petty, QB, Baylor
7 - Chucky Hunter, NT, TCU
7 - Ray Drew, DT/DE, Georgia

I say Kevin Johnson might be gone by our 1st round pick, much less sitting there at 91.

like the players but don't think McKinney makes it to #60, Johnson to #91 or Petty to the 5th round.

Both Collins and Johnson are almost unanimously being mocked to go in the first and in quite a few instances before we pick. McKinney doesn't thrill me and I'd hate it if we took Petty.

I'm certainly no expert and am more confident about the first two picks then those that follow. After the 2nd round, mocking is pretty much a crap shoot for everyone.

Would be a sweet draft

• I'm torn on Gordon at 27...would depend on who else is there
• would love McKinney at 60
• just don't see any scenario where either of those CBs are there at 91....hope it happens though.
• Randall in the 4th would be nice
• Petty in the 5th is worth the risk that late

Gordon and McKinney would both fit in well in our system, imho. I really like #3, Jalen Collins, a lot. He's really solid. Bryce Petty is reported to go well before round 5. although his long balls tend to be lofted carelessly much too often, ala Brandon Weeden. Dunno if he'll get out of that habit. He had a good pro day sans coverage.

That's a really good way to lose a glove and a hand should it be inside the glove at the time.
