I included a few trades but didn't include compensation because it's only a 1 round mock. Just assume that it's correct value
1.) Miami Dolphins- Chris Long, DE/OLB, Virginia
Parcells will love his high motor and his better than expected athleticism makes the switch to OLB possible.
2.) St. Louis Rams- Jake Long, OT, Michigan
The Rams could easily opt for an interior d-lineman, but Pace is getting older and Alex Barron hasn't been as good as he could be.
3.) Atlanta Falcons- Matt Ryan, QB, Boston College
This franchise needs a new face and imo Ryan and McFadden are the only guys who can step into that role, but character will come into play.
4.) Oakland Raider- Darren McFadden, RB, Arkansas
Al Davis gets the biggest "wow" player in the draft.
5.) Kansas City Chiefs- Glenn Dorsey, DT, Louisiana State
KC has to be estatic that the top two DTs are available. Only guy they would want over Dorsey/Ellis would be Jake Long.
6.) New York Jets- Vernon Gholston, DE/OLB, Ohio State
The Jets need pressure players and Gholston is the best available.
7.) Cincinnati Bengals (from NE via SF)- Sedrick Ellis, DT, Southern Cal
The Bengals attempted to get Rogers so we know they'll be eyeing DTs. IMO it's possible the Ravens grab Dorsey so a trade here is smart.
8.) Baltimore Ravens- Brian Brohm, QB, Louisville
The Ravens could go CB here, but I really think QB makes the most sense.
9.) New England Patriots (from Cin)- Dominique Rogers-Cromartie, CB, Tennessee State
New England always seems to dance to the beat of their own drum, so I expect them to shock everyone and grab DRC very early.
10.) New Orleans Saints- Keith Rivers, OLB, Southern Cal
The Saints could go CB, but due to the depth at CB vs OLB, I think they'll grab Rivers
11.) Buffalo Bills- James Hardy, WR, Indiana
The Bills need a big WR and Hardy is probably the best WR in the draft.
12.) Denver Broncos- Ryan Clady, OT, Boise State
The Broncos need o-line help. Kentwaan Balmer could go here, but Clady is better so he gets the pick.
13.) Chicago Bears- Chris Williams, OT, Vanderbelt
Another team in need of an OT. RB could be an option or WR, but those needs can be addressed later.
14.) Minesota Vikings (from Car)- Derrick Harvey, DE, Florida
The Vikes need an edge rusher. They tried to sign Justin Smith, but he signed with San Fran so I expect them to aggressively target someone in the draft
15.) Detroit Lions- Aquib Talib, CB, Kansas
Probably the best fit in a cover-2 scheme so Detroit has to be glad he's available.
16.) Arizona Cardinals- Leodis McKelvin, CB, Troy
IMO they really need a DE/OLB type player to run their 3-4, but none are available, so I think they'll opt to go CB over RB here.
17.) Carolina Panthers (from Min)- Kenny Phillips, S, Miami
The Panthers really need a safety, but I don't know if Phillips will be the answer. During his work outs scouts say he had stiff hips, ran a poor 40 (mid 4.5 I believe) and lacks a nose for the ball. But I wouldn't be suprised to see him go here.
18.) Houston Texans- Rashard Medenhall, RB, Illionois
Medenhall can really take this offense to the next level.
19.) Philadelphia Eagles- Devin Thomas, WR, Michigan State
I don't think they'll land Moss or Fitzgerald, so I think they'll go WR here after signing Asante Samuels.
20.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers- DeSean Jackson, WR, California
Joey Galloway is getting older and they need to replace his deep threat ability. Jackson is small, but I think he can develop into a Steve Smith type player
21.) Washington Commanders- Malcom Kelly, WR, Oklahoma
Another team in need of a big WR, should be good in a WCO
22.) Dallas Cowboys (from CLE)- Mike Jenkins, CB, South Florida
A real steal for us here
23.) Tennessee Titans- Kentwaan Balmer, DT, North Carolina
IMO he's better as a 3-4 end because of his frame, but he could be great next to Haynesworth who's in another contract year
24.) Pittsburgh Steelers- Jeff Otah, OT, Pittsburgh
After losing Faneca and the RT position being a problem, Otah is a no brainer
25.) Seattle Seahawks- Jonathan Stewart, RB, Oregon
The next RB for Seattle needs to be drafted now cause Alexander is slowing down real fast
26.) Jacksonville Jaguars- Phillip Merling, DE, Clemson
They could use another d-lineman after trading Stroud. I've never been too impressed with their DEs and they still have Henderson so Merling could be good here
27.) San Diego Chargers- DeJuan Morgan, S, North Carolina State
Needs another safety to complete the secondary.
28.) Dallas Cowboys- Felix Jones, RB, Arkansas
I know a lot of you guys don't like him, but I think he's more of a complete back than Chris Johnson and Jamal Charles. As far as the bench press goes, it's over rated and I'm willing to bet after his pro-day he lifts a similar amount to the other two guys who didn't lift at the combine
29.) San Francisco 49ers- Limas Sweed, WR, Texas
I don't like this guy in round 1, but I have a hunch that Sweed goes here
30.) Green Bay Packers- Antoine Cason, CB, Arizona
Needs CB depth behind aging starters (sound familar )
31.) New York Giants- Dan Conner, LB, Penn State
They lost 2 starters on D so it's either LB or Safety here (Reggie Smith)
1.) Miami Dolphins- Chris Long, DE/OLB, Virginia
Parcells will love his high motor and his better than expected athleticism makes the switch to OLB possible.
