I'm assuming we don't get the #1 pick, but are about 5th

1.) Patrick Peterson, CB, LSU
I think we all want to go for a tackle here, but there isn't one worth taking, so we should definately pass on one instead of reaching. If Peterson is gone, I'd consider Nick Fairley here instead.
2a.) Gabe Camiri, OT, Wisconsin
This guy has a toughness that we'll need on the o-line. Probably not a good enough athlete to play LT, but is hardly a stiff and dominated likely first round picks Adrian Claybourne and Cameron Heyward so far this year.

*Traded our 3rd rounder and the 6th rounder from San Diego*

2b.) Michael Pouncey, OG, Florida
Due to hin inability to excell at center, he won't be a first round pick, and will likely fall to the mid second round. If that happens we should definately trade up because we need help on the o-line big time. Would prefer Wisniewski, but I think he goes early second.
4.) Phil Taylor, NT, Baylor
I know it's a broken record, but the new defensive staff (hopefully Marvin Lewis) should move Ratliff to DE. If that's the plan, then we need a NT that can rotate with Josh Brent. I think Brent is playing well, but adding another massive body in there to rotate with him would be best.
5.) Quentin Davie, LB, Northwestern
If we're unable to get a veteran LB who can play in the nickel, this may be our guy. He's a 3rd year starter in the big ten so the NFL adjustment shouldn't be to bad and scouts say he has great range for a LB (3 ints and 4 pass deflections this year).
6.) Casey Matthews, ILB, Oregon
Considering how much of a late bloomer his brother Clay was (never saw the field at USC till his SR year) Casey Matthew's may be a late round steal for someone. Like Sean Lee he's likely not suited for the Nickel, but there are always roster spots for guys with upside, passion and character

I am frankly hoping that we are able to get a top 5 pick, and if Peterson is still there and the scouts agree he is worth it, then get him. If not I really hope we trade down if we can. We need between FA and the Draft about 7 new starters and extra picks in the first 3 rds are really needed.

cushing is a user, matthews is a beast

You know, I'm a big fan of Matthews and that whole crop of linebackers (Cushing, Maualuga).

However, I have to say after watching the Packers/Cowboys game the other night and seeing Clay Matthews on the sideline with his helmet off, he's got some tell-tale signs of steriods use (furrowed cro-magnon brow).

I'm wondering if it's only a matter of time before something comes out.

Ratliff to DE.......

Gonna be a long next 5 months

hasn't been the same this year. If he was putting up good numbers or even being disruptive I'd agree, but neither is the case
