As a long suffering critic of our safeties, that first mock would pretty much cause me to pass out. Seems high for Cichy but if he's healthy, he's a good football player. Harrison and Shepherd are potential guys. Like Scott and Thomas as well.

Second mock, I love DJ. Not fan of Jewell, especially that high. Again, love Earl Thomas.

In the 2nd mock, I wanted Tim Settle at 50 but that’s probably not realistic. I’m not sure he’d be there or if they’d even take a DT that high. Jewell at 50 is iffy for me too, but they’ve already met with him and I doubt he lasts to 81 had we not traded the pick for Earl Thomas.

Im sorry i dont like either. First would be slightly better than your second because DJ Moore is not worth a 1st Round Pick. Actually besides Ridley i dont see any 1st Round Talent in the WRs and its not the biggest Need if we Keep the recent Corps and add another one maybe in Round 3.

Catch production based heavily on simple throws and routes. Needs to play with same competitiveness as a route-runner that he does after the catch. Doesn't play with consistent vertical push. Allows corners to crowd top of his routes. Glides rather than explodes out of breaks. Doesn't always burst out of breaks to separate. Slow to sink and settle into breaks on intermediate routes. Relatively ineffective working downfield. Disappointing win percentage on 50-50 balls. Hasn't developed feel for body positioning and capturing catch space yet. Wasn't on same route page with quarterbacks at times.
Draft Projection
Round 2

I fully agree with that Report watching his tape.
The Cowboys will draft a WR, probably two because of all the visits but that doesnt mean it will happen in Round 1 or 2 and really shouldnt.

Your 2nd Mock would be a Fitting Jerry Draft though.
Taking a One Handed 230 Lbs LB because of the media Hype and feel good Story and Larry Allens Son because his Dad was great here lol.

Also i just dont see Earl Thomas here in any Scenario. Hes way too expensive too.

And here’s another report from NFL.com

“Moore is a thick, muscled-up wideout with outstanding toughness, burst and savvy. He lines up both outside and in the slot for the Terrapins. He powers through press coverage and understands how to set up defenders before snapping off his route. He collects a lot of quick hitters in this offense, but he flashes the ability to work down the seam as well as over the top. He tracks the ball naturally. He can adjust and finish on poor throws. He's at his best after the catch. Moore routinely breaks tackles, makes defenders miss or runs away from them. His competitiveness is off the charts. I won't be surprised if Moore ends up being the best receiver in this draft class.”

You're setting yourself up for major disappointment, but do you.

Not because he’s an outstanding player though, right lol

Not really. You can afford him just by restructuring Frederick and extending Martin.

Everyone’s got a different opinion. Me personally:
- I like James as a trade up target
- I like Earl Thomas
- Don’t like Jewell
- Like Shepard
- Like Griffen in the 4th
- Would rather a shifty RB than Williams
- Don’t like Moore at 19 but like him as a trade back option.
- Don’t remember seeing Cichy
- Don’t really have a strong opinion on the rest.

I really like Derwin James because I think he has legit first round talent and our S hole has been gaping for too long. But I would not give up a 2nd round pick to get him.

And regarding Earl Thomas- the more I study that move, the more I dislike it. Let me count the reasons why.

1. Even though Thomas is just 29, it is the beginning of “being old” in this league. Thomas started playing in the NFL at 21, and has already played eight seasons plus 9 playoff games on those tires.

2. And, speaking of wear and tear on his body, Thomas hasn’t played a full season since 2015 because of injuries.

3. And, that contract....on a team that struggles with cap room because of our FO’s habit of paying too much for guys that good but not great (like Ty Crawford) Earl Thomas WAS a great player from 2010-2015 or 16. Now he’s just a good player IMO, and that contract pays him like he’s great.

4. It says a lot about what Sea thinks about Thomas now that they would probably take a 3rd round pick for him.

I think Earl Thomas was one of the best players in the NFL the last decade. But the key word there is WAS. Now, IMO, because of wear and tear of his physical style of play, he’s probably just a good player. That’s an upgrade for us for sure, but the price tag is too steep to justify that move IMO. I could certainly be wrong though!

I’d be cool with the top half of either draft, not a fan of all the small school guys in the second half though, although i get your reasoning for drsfting each player due to the athletic traits each possess.

Those are all legitimate reasons. But the way I see it, I would be willing to give up our third round pick for him even if it was for only one year. I’m willing to take the risk that he’s still a great player and hopefully can be for 3 more years.

Yeah, when you get to the bottom of the draft, you almost have to bank on athletic traits. Who are some day three guys that you like?

Check out Cichy. He hasn’t played since 2016 but he’s a top 50 talent when healthy.

Here are some of my favorite mid-late round players. Best depth in the 4th & later seems to be RB, LB & NT. I really dislike the edge & OL depth, really all together in this draft but especially in the later rounds.

Kallen Ballage
Akrum Wadley
Darrell Williams
Desean Hamilton
Jaleel Scott - good call on him, his traits are off the charts
Jamarco Jones
KJ Malone
Both NC State DT’s
Poona Ford
Fred Warner
Shaqueem Griffin
Azeem Victor
Keshawn Bierria
Kyzir White
Terrell Edmunds
Tre Flowers

I’m familiar with Hamilton, Ford, Warner, White, and Flowers (I want to watch more on him, though). I’ll check out the rest. I’m especially eager to watch Malone & Edmunds. Athleticism runs in their families lol

Lane, am I crazy or is Jaleel Scott a solid route runner?

Malone should probably transition to G & could still bust but hes got the build & ive seen him play with that nasty i like to see in a olineman.... same with Jones. I love Edmunds, he plays just like his brother, quick twitch, fast to the ball, wraps up well.

The Tackling is on another Level in the NFL. In College you rarely see 230 lb RBs going full Speed at you. Let alone These monstrous O-Linemen. I just have Problems seeing him being productive with These limitations. Hes a Warrior no doubt but Tackling and Catching a Ball will be very difficult on the next Level.

I like Moore, just dont want to spend a 1st on him. I wouldnt for any Receiver in that class.
