I like Calhoun and Davis fits a need. Seems high for Havenstein. Dawson in the 4th doesn't excite me. He will be lost behind current LB's.

Dawson is the only one I like. Calhoun is decent strong side DE but not 1st round. Davis is big and slow. Doesn't fit what the DC looks for. Havenstien is slow and plays in his heels in pass pro. A better run blocker than pass blocker.

Might be high for Havenstein, but I think he is way more than the big stiff people think he is. Projected in 6 by NFLDS and people assume he is Rob Petiti. He has one ideal fit in the NFL; RT in a power running scheme. What could a 6-8/330 RT do with 50 game starting experience at Wisconsin and all that coaching next to an All Pro RG in Martin?

Dawson would be being a lot behind our current LB's and 3 of them are free agents.

Id be so happy if we can get Diggs that late.

Not a big Calhoun fan but I can live with him as deep in the draft as we pick

I'd be okay with Calhoun if he was the only one left of the three or four in my sig.
Seems really high for Havenstein, I would consider either of the FL St Gs in round 3 if still available and I like Havenstein and OT Thompson but definitely not til the 4th.
I like DT from Clemson in the later rounds too.

Where you playing those guards?

As if we haven't taken players higher than the rest of the world had them rated the last few years and they turned out to be complete studs.

If you take an OG high, my guess is you let Leary walk after 2015.

Cant pay everyone. Leary is gonna be a name by next season and should be very coveted. And after we will have extentions for Frederick and Martin

If you lose Leary in FA you get no comp picks for UDFA's. I can't see jerry letting a young 2 year starter at LG (3 years by then) walk for nothing. He was pissed when we lost Bowen to DC.

Im not talking about this year Im talking about next year when he is unrestricted. IMO if you want him long term, you extend him this offseason. On the open market in 2015, he could be getting Top 15 OG money. Now you could probably get him for 4 million per or so

I understand that, that's why I said 3 years by then.

At which you have to ask yourself if he worth an an above market value deal when Frederick and Martins extentions will right around the corner.

Thats why taking an OG in rounds 3 or 4 may not be a bad idea

I think Free is starting to break down. Draft a mid rounder to compete with Parnell at RT and resign Leary.

Im good with extending Leary this year. I think we can get good value on that now. 2015 will probably too pricey and he will be another Ken Hamlin contract

I agree with you on RT although I dont think a mid rounder is going to compete with Parnell. Maybe in a couple yeara
s he will

We tried to trade back into the 3rd round to draft Trai Turner so I wouldn't be shocked if we try to add another guard.

That's a good point and I thought of that.

I kind of thought originally they thought Zack would eventually move to RT when Free moved on, but maybe in fact it was for Leary protection.

If they are looking for a guard I think Laken Tomlinson is the name to remember.

Also keep in mind Leary had to earn his job by beat Bernadeau. During draft time last Leary wasnt viewed as a slam dunk starter
