Round 1(Trade W/ CLE): Patrick Peterson-DB-LSU (6-1, 214)
*Trade our 1st and 3rd Rounders for Cleveland's 1st Rounder*

Peterson is one of the premier prospects in the draft this year, he combines freakish size and speed with playmaking ability. With so many teams in the top 5 that need Defensive Line and Quarterback help, Peterson falls to #6 where we make our trade with Cleveland to move up. A dynamic player, Peterson could be an All-Pro at either Free Safety of Cornerback, I imagine we'd draft him to play Safety and instantly make our pass defense better. Peterson would be allowed to roam around over the middle in Rob Ryan's Defense just waiting to pounce on Quarterbacks mistakes. He is not only great in run support and coverage, but once Peterson gets his hands on a turnover he is one of those rare defenders who can return them all the way. He can also contribute as a kick returner where he returned 2 punts for TD's this year. Peterson is the playmaker we've been lacking in our secondary for a long time.

Round 2: Phil Taylor-NT-Baylor (6-4, 337)

Rob Ryan is now in town and his first order of business will be to find a sufficient 2-Gap Nose Tackle. Jay Ratliff will most likely be kicked out to End and that leaves Joshua Brent as the only Nose Tackle on the team. Phil Taylor was a highly recruited player out of HS who landed at Penn St. He was dismissed from the team his sophmore year and found a new home at Baylor. Blessed with tremendous size and power, Taylor was thought of as an underachiever at Penn St but once he came to Baylor the lightbulb went on. Taylor was a monster in the Big 12 for the past two seasons and has positioned himself as the top Nose Tackle available for the 2011 Draft. He is immovable and is actually athletic enough to move down the line of scrimmage and make plays. With his stock projected as an early 2nd Round pick, Taylor is perfect value here at Pick 41, he would be a major solution for our Defensive Line woes.

*Round 3 Traded*

Round 4: John Moffitt, C/G, Wisconsin

We have already focused on fixing the secondary and the defensive line by landing two impact players so now in the 4th Round we will turn our attention to the Offensive Line where we find Wisconsin's John Moffitt. Versatility is key with Moffitt as he is a natural Guard but can play Center in a pinch as well. My plan with Moffitt would be to let him serve as a C/G fill-in his rookie year and eventually let him take over at Center so we can move Gurode back over to Guard where he won't have to worry about making line calls. Moffitt is the ideal interior lineman pick for us.

Round 5: Nate Irving, ILB, NC State (6-1, 242)

One of the most impressive comeback stories in college football this season was NC State linebacker Nate Irving. Irving was in a serious car accident back in 2008 where he suffered life threatening injuries. After spending nearly two years recovering the Wolfpack Senior Captain came back this season with a vengence. "The Predator" posted a team high 92 Tackles, 21.5 TFLs, 7 sacks, and 6 Pass break ups. Irving is known for his physical style of play and his tenacious demeanor on the field. He is a high energy well rounded linebacker who can be the eventual successor to Bradie James, and could instantly contribute as a nickel linebacker in his rookie year.

Round 6: Justin Rogers, CB, Richmond (5-11, 183)

A three time 1st Team All-CAA selection, Rodger was one of the most electrifying playermakers at the Division 1-AA level. After Rogers intercepted seven passes in 2008, opposing quarterbacks avoided throwing toward him during his junior season in 2009. He's a shutdown cornerback with big playmaking ability. Lightning fast, Rogers also returns kicks for the Spiders. As a redshirt freshman in 2007, he averaged 30.4 yards (third-best in the FCS) on 33 returns, taking two all the way for touchdowns. This past season he recently shattered longtime Philadelphia Eagle Brian Westbrooks' Career Kick Return Yard record. Rodgers has the ability to be a big time playmaker in the NFL if given time to fully develop, at the very least he can be an upgrade at Kick Returner.

Round 6(F/Miami): Willie Smith, OT, ECU (6-5, 290)

One of the most intriguing late round offensive line prospects in this draft, Willie Smith is a classic boom or bust. A former Defensive End, Smith has only played on the offensive side of the ball for 2 years. He is extremely raw but has more physical tools than any other Lineman in this class. There were times this season when he put it all together and he looked like Walter Jones, but it was not on enough of a consistent basis as he struggles with maintaining proper technique. Whoever drafts him will need to be very patient as he will probably need 2 years until a team would be able to consider him a starter, but if he reaches his ceiling you're looking at an All-Pro type of Tackle. He has ridiculous athleticism for a man his size and will not have problems with any edge rusher in the NFL if coached properly.

Round 7: Kai Forbath, K, UCLA

We cannot go into another season with the Adventures of David Buehler, it is time to spend a draft pick on a solid kicker. Kai Forbath is one of the most decorated kickers in NCAA history. He connected on 85 out of 101 Field Goals throughout his career including 11 from 50+ Yards. He is as sure footed as they come and should give us stability at the Kicker position for a long time.

I have Peterson as a FS.

Waiting to the forth round to select an offensive lineman would make this board go crazy. You would almost have to address within the first two rounds to be satisfied imo.

Cowboys always address OL through FA, unless there's a situation where a guys value is just too much to pass on then we won't take an OL in the first 2 rounds this year either.

Everything I've seen from him says late 3rd early 4th.

Pouncey, Ijalana, Cannon, Watkins, Moffitt are the top 5 guards, watkins being 27 already makes him 5th out of these 5, Moffitt will probably endup in the early 3rd.

and Rodney Hudson, Orlando Franklin, Stephen Schilling, Clint Boling, Will Rackley, Demarcus Love, Joseph Barksdale....

There are a lot of Guards in that 2-4 Range. Most of these guys grade out higher than Moffitt.

If we managed to pull that off, I think I would poop myself.

Addressing FS, NT, ILB, OG, OT, CB/KR, K. Beautiful. Amazing.
