Let's play with moving all around. Peterson is gone and in a shocker so is Tyron Smith.

Detroit wants #9 and sends us #13 and #75.

#13. Anthony Castonzo, OT, Boston College, 6'7", 315.

We trade #40 and #75 to the Patriots for #28.

#28. Mike Pouncey, OG, Florida, 6'5", 305.

#71. Mason Foster, ILB, Washington, 6'1", 245.

#110. Deunta Williams, FS, North Carolina, 6'2", 205.

#143. DeMarcus Van Dyke, CB, Miami, 6'1", 178.

#176. Buster Skrine, CB, UT Chattanooga, 5'10", 186.

#220. Cedric Thornton, DE, Southern Arkansas, 6'3", 310.

#252. Greg McElroy, QB, Alabama, 6'2", 225.

I am not a big fan of Pouncey. He sucks at Center and at Guard he just didn't show me much this past season. He was a lot better when he had his brother next to him. In fact, the entire ** OLine was suspect this past season.

dont like Van Dyke or Skrine at all.

But i`d be more than happy with Castonzo, Pouncey and Foster. I`d prefer Smith to castonzo but any OT outside of Solder in round 1 and i`m doing cartwheels.

Nice working with the trasdes but if Dallas was trading down for a T other then Smith i would hope it was Carimi. Pouncey will be gone before 20 and will not get by the Giants IMO. If he did it would be a great big wonderful thing for the Cowboys

I think you might have hit our first rounder on the head..

very interesting.

Good thinking.

In case anyone has wondered, the entire purpose of this draft is to get Mike Pouncey since he tweeted he would be shocked not to wear the silver and blue. Unless he falls, this is the only way.

Oh, and one person who scouts the draft think Harris is going to fall to the 3rd round. That shocks me. I think he is wrong.

If your talking about brandon harris then that doesnt shock me. he's too small big receivers will abuse him espcially in the redzone. Will be a effective as a nickel back and not worth a top draft pick. JMO

Very interesting. I posted the exact same idea prior to your post on another site. Great minds think alike. Not sure if I can mention the site name or not.

Almost word for word what the guy I am mentioning said. He added that Harris is a career backup only.

Sure, what's wrong with that?

I posted it on footballguys.com at 10am this morning. I post under Bankerguy there...its in the Dallas offseason thread. You will probably see from that thread I don't share your passion for Petersen though.

Nothing wrong with that.

Hos, is Ellis gone before you draft Williams. I worry about his character but we need a big NT to spell Ratliff.

He is a special athlete who has gotten by on raw talent and bad technique. I don't think his game translates well to a pro corner. I see him more as a system CB (ideally a Tampa 2) or a FS. Not worthy of a Top 10 pick

I respectfully disagree.

hmm, not overly impressed with Costanzo.
I hope that if we take a T in the first it will be with a trade down and the pick will be Carimi.
The other thing about a lot of mocks that concerns me is not many people are putting any offensive potential playmakers in them for us. We need a good slot WR badly and a RB also. I really really hope we bring in at least one name guy at a need spot, preferrably Huff at FS, so we can focus the draft on OL and BPA.
I'd really like to snag Randal Cobb in the third or so but I'm afraid he'll be long gone by then. Although PP is dumb as rocks, I think it'd be a good move to jump up and grab him if possible because he's a gamebreaker on defense but also on STs, which is almost as good as picking up a playmaker on offense, if we're not going to get someone like Cobb.

If you get to 12, the last blue player will be on the board, assuming the Bills don't pick Gabe Carimi at number 3. ;)

I'd look to move even further back in round 1 (get more picks) and draft the much more athletic and much better run blocker, Derek Sherrod. I think this guy is really under rated, and honestly, he's the only player I really like in the teens or very early 20s. I think this is the guy the Colts will draft.

Maybe, you can trade down with Jacksonville and take Sherrod before the Eagles, Giants, or Colts could grab him. Sherrod gives you the much better athleticism and run blocking at RT, and he should be able to supplant Doug Free (with ease) at LT in 2012.

Castonzo is going to have trouble with bull rushers early in his NFL career according to Charlie Casserly. He needs to get stronger in his lower body. I'm not sold on him at all for the Cowboys. I think Sherrod has more upside. Sherrod has bulked up and could possibly supplant Free at LT during the year. Sherrod will play at 22 and is younger than Castonzo.

The Cowboys would probably know who is going to take who or have a good feel for it and know how far they could drop. I'd put myself in position to cash in on that value.

Who ever drafts Sherrod is going to get a great value pick.

I think Smith and Sherrod are the two best OTs in this draft. Sherrod was my guy back in the fall.

Get on the phone with A.J. Smith and look to get to that spot. The only problem is the Colts, Giants, and Eagles. You don't want to get jumped.

Sherrod may have put on enough weight to make the Eagles' new o-line coach not like him.
