Mock to complete the D rebuild and plug O needs

Yes, but an exceptionally deep pass rusher class. And at least one terrible contract at the position to get out of. It’s a much higher priority for me.
I know you are on the Edge train. The hope is to draft one somewhere within our top 3 picks.

But this mock does not do that.

No, but it's possible if both Gregory/DLaw return to address other needs. Nobody knows what will happen with fa prior to the draft. Yes, it would be smart, but it will depend on how their board shakes out. There was a great TE Class a few years ago, we had a future need, but they decided against.

I know one thing. Both Lawrence and Gregory will NOT return.

And was that a good decision or a bad decision?

I know taking a guard vs a pass rusher would be going against conventional opinion of player value. Particularly when you have a bad contract you need to get out of.

I don’t think there is any way Gregory and DLaw are both on this team next year. And you can add Cooper to that list. Good players but if you tell me I can draft Johnson and Mechie or Pickins in round 2 ? Goodbye.

Pickens is a hot head and a knuckle head. Not in the third. Maybe in the fifth.

I don’t think it’s a guarantee that 1 departs. Yes, you follow the money in rd 1, but you may get the 7th best DE against the best guard

I’d be willing to bet on it, would you?

And you’d still be coming out ahead.
Last year, they could of drafted a LT but took an off the ball linebacker. Nobody envisioned Parsons being an elite edge rusher at the time of the pick, probably not even the Cowboys. Slater was a pro bowl starter, but Parsons was an all pro. Would you take an average starter over an elite player at a less valued position?

I wanted Slater over Parsons in that draft actually. Happy to say I was wrong but that’s the way I viewed the value then as well.

I did as well, but clearly they made the right pick and even got Golston in the trade down.

Hill is a good player. I like the Johnson and Mathis picks. Pretty high for Pickens. Paschal in the sixth would be the steal of the draft. He's my pick for an inside rusher on passing downs. I would look elsewhere with the round 5 picks.

You're always within the realm of reality with your stuff. It's always good and I appreciate reading it.

But....lol...

Do you really think Cooper is worth a very high 2nd?

And how much better does he make the Jets in exchange for his 20 plus million?

I mean, I'd make this deal in a second....and I do think Cooper is worth as high as a 3rd to the right win right now team.

Can't see how the Jets conclude this being the right move for them right now.
Every team that believes in their young QB is going to look at the Bengals and think they can replicate it. Coop isn’t a game breaker like Chase but he’s not far off

Traded Amari Cooper to the Jets for pick # 38 (2nd Rd). Gallup/Wilson get resigned.

1-Daxton Hill CB/S Michigan
2a-Zion Johnson G BC
2b-Mathis DT Alabama
3-George Pickens WR Georgia
4-Leo Chenal LB Wisconsin
5a-D. West Center Arizona State
5b-C. Okonkwo TE Maryland
6-Josh Pascal Edge Kentucky
Brother, I am behind on the Cowboys draft information but I was listening to the draft show the other day. It sounds like the Cowboys want to improve the offense by improving the interior of the offensive line, getting more speed at the receivers position, and draft a tight end. I don’t like that idea, Ouinn, Parsons, Kearse and Diggs hid issues with our linebackers, defensive line and secondary last season. We need to balance the team.

As I have saying yesterday to a few posters, it's shaping up to be a offensive heavy draft class. They are clearly looking at G/T, WR and TE's. Haven't found much about defensive players they are linked to. This tells me, they are probably bringing back their fa's and will just tweak the unit.

I don’t like it. They must really trust Joseph, Cox and Gholston. They must believe 100% that Gregory and Kearse are coming back. Maybe the won’t get rid of Tank. Not a bad plan I guess.

Defense really isn't that far, we can argue about a top level DT, but the other needs is a two down linebacker and a upgrade at Free Safety. Now if they lose either Gregory or DLaw DE becomes a huge need.

They obviously believe they lost the San Francisco game because of the offense. I guess they didn’t notice the 49ers running the ball down our throats.

Until they use a high pick at the 1 Tech position, we have to assume they will follow the same script, sign a low level 2 down starter.
