Ok...I am finding every reason to update my mock and this time I have decided to jump the gun and pretend the PacMan has cometh to Dallas!!
So without further adieu:
a.Branden Albert--With PacMan on board, cb no longer is a priority and I really cooling off drafting a wideout with the first pick, mainly because there are simply too many question marks surrounding all of the top guys. Albert is the best player on the board at this point and replaces Kosier midway through training camp.
b.James Hardy-- Since I am limiting to myself to one assumption which is the signing if PacMan, I will assume the next biggest need will be addressed through the draft. In a more gambling mood with the second pick and JJ should be going for the player with highest upside which I think would belong to James Hardy if still available. Hardy has all the physical ability to dominate and his character is not nearly as bad as some might suggest.
.Ray Rice, RB--I don't know if Rice will last this long, but if he does, Dallas will have itself a steal in the second round.
.Red Bryant--NT is a major need in my opinion because as good as Ratliff performed at the nose, his natural position is end. Bryant is 320lbs, unslefish and can occupy blockers for the linebackers to flow to the ball.
.Jack Williams, CB--This kid is a great competitor, tough as nails and might be a little cheaper because he played through a bum ankle last year. How does 4.35 speed grab you??
.Curtis Johnson, OLB--Some might think this is a reach for a guy who played at a tiny school, but I think a kid with his tools who plays with fire is a very good gamble.
.Fernando Velasco, C/G--Very big center, who can also play some guard. Houck loves big lineman and this guy just adds to his options....can he snap out of the shotgun???
.T.C Ostrander, QB-I got to watch this guy a couple of times during the year and both times came away feeling he will be a better pro than at Stanford throwing to those stiffs disguised as wideouts.
