Well here we are, it is the wonderful time of year--Mock Draft time. Last year, I did my TOP 32 BIG BOARD about 5 weeks before the draft and I had some misses, but I had a lot of hits too. I think that Zack Martin kid turned out okay.

"11. Zack Martin OT Notre Dame- Ironman player who rarely is on the ground and never gets hurt. As I mentioned in my earlier FanPost, he could be a sleeper for Dallas at 16. He can play OG and OT. Great technique, power, intelligence, and bend. I've heard him compared to Logan Mankins and I don't agree with that. Mankins is a nasty player. Martin is more cerebral and relies on his technique and athleticism instead of brute force.
Comparable Player- Evan Mathis"

I will be doing my annual Big Board in the coming weeks (it's very time intensive), but in the meantime, I went on Fanspeak (Bleacher Report Draft Board) and did my first simulated draft without trades. I think you all will like the outcome

I would love that draft, but it ain't happening. I disagree with his assessment of K. Johnson. I think he does have elite upside and think he will be a true number 1 CB. I also really like Fajardo if he's there in the 7th. The guy has all the tools you expect an NFL QB to have. He needs some clipboard time and a good QB coach, but he's a 7th rd lottery ticket.

Yes, Zack Martin is the cerebral assassin. A All Pro in 1st year, doesn't get any better than that, stay thirsty my friend.

When people say "what are the Cowboys needs in the draft" my answer is just try to get another All-Pro and don't worry about the position.

He can post what he wrote about Martin last year all he wants but we all could post up what we wrote about some of last year's break out rookies. That doesn't change that his picks for this year's draft are questionable, at best.

I have serious doubts that Gurley will make it to the 27th pick. I had high hopes earlier in the off season but it is looking more and more like he won't make it to the late first.

Kevin Johnson is a guy I really like but he might not make it to #27 either. I'm pretty sure there is no way he makes it to Dallas' second round pick. That is wishful thinking.

Even if Mario Edwards makes it to the late third round - and I don't think he will - I wouldn't be crazy about the pick. I don't like Edwards very much. I don't think he has the mental make-up that Marinelli wants in his DL. He should have been much better at FSU than he actually was.

Ellis McCarthy does nothing to excite me. Definitely a meh pick for me.

Reed and Grant strike me about the same way as McCarthy.

Halliday won't be there in the 7th either, IMO.

Next year, this guy will probably point to what he wrote about Gurley...
