Trade 27 and 90 to TB for 35 and 42

2nd(35) - Vladimir Ducasse - OL - Hopefully between Vlad and Brewster we have our RT. If not hes a fine guard prospect as well

2nd(42)

2nd(#59)- Tyson Alualu - DE
- I like the Idea of a player similar to Rat right next to Rat

*Cowboys trade Marcus Spears, Bobby Carpenter and a #196 to Miami for #73

Some people are very sure were trading a player. W/ Alualu in the mix, Spears is expendable. The Cowboys will pay backup defensive linemen Jason Hatcher and Stephen Bowen more money than they pay Spears. Bowen and Hatcher each received second-round tenders worth $1.759 million.

3rd(#73) - Akwasi Owusu-Ansah, CB/KR, IUP - Averaged 29.7 yards on kickoffs and 12.5 yards on punt returns with five special-teams touchdowns.

Not sexy at all and I love it.

Not sure about the trades but if we can walk away with that collection it would be a great draft.

im assuming we project AOA to safety? if so then i like connor in the 7th. would love this draft btw

Don't know how reliable this guy is, but you might want to read the linked article:

About the 18th or 19th paragraph down, they've got some pretty unflattering things to say about your first pick. Just fyi.
Getting back to the mental toughness concept. What you said there reminds me of down in Mobile (Senior Bowl week) where we stood with (the GM of his team) and watched Vlad Ducasse beg the coaches to move back inside after a couple of bad plays at tackle. Is that more of what you’re talking about?

Scout: You got it. I know we said right then there ain’t no way he’s ever gonna make it. He’s afraid of getting beat and looking bad. That’s the risk you run with the smaller college guys and the kids that everyone calls “projects” (yes, he made the air quotes!). There is a hell of a lot of pressure on those kids to try and hit home runs on every pitch and never look bad. Especially early on. Some of the kids can handle it, some can’t. He can’t, and that ain’t gonna change. Move him to guard, whatever...that’s (how they handle it) hard to see from those kids that come from small schools or kids like him that haven’t played very long.

For those that don't want to read the whole article.

Im seeing mixed things on his potential there and how scouts rate his tackling. I think Ball will be our FS.

Don't know how reliable this guy is, but you might want to read the linked article:

I wouldnt hold that against him. He wasnt comfortable there at tackle and it showed. Frankly it might be smart b/c when I saw him at LT I got turned off.

Remember he was sent to the United States by his parents at 14 to escape tough street life of Port Au Prince. Its understandable to be nervous about how he looks in front of NFL people for the first time, theres a ton of pressure on him to support his whole family. Not exactly time to try and do something youre just not ready for yet

In your scenario, I'd rather have Pouncey at 35, Burnett at 42, Ducasse at 59 and Lee or T. Gibson at 73.

May be able to get Ford or Cox at 125 to return kicks....maybe.

Nothing wrong w/ any of that. Just that Pouncey probably wont make it out of R1. I dont feel I cheated w/ any of my picks

To me, unless were getting a guy whos graded a round or two higher than theyre taking him I dont know if they get a WR like Ford. Plus AOA returns kicks

I don't like the Alualu pick

I take any of these guys before Aluaha

Linval Joseph - East Carolina
Torrell Troup - UCF
Mike Neal - Purdue
Jeff Owens - Georgia

Ford is a track star and one of the fastest players in the country right now. Some scouts hand timed his 40 as low as 4.18! The combine gave him a 4.28, but NFLDS has him listed at 4.22...which I tend to agree with. I'll gladly take Ford in the 4th round and his 16 TD's receiving, 1 TD on kicks and 2 TD's on punts.

AOA is what they call a small school gem or sleeper. Therefore, any gaudy numbers he puts up in college (5 TD returns) have to be taken with a grain of salt etc. Like Chris Cook, AOA is kind of a tweener and will be asked to work at safety too IMO. His tackling is pretty anemic with only 73 tackles in 44 games, and that's not a good sign for any type of DB. However, his workout numbers were excellent with a low 4.3 in the 40 and that helps his stock quite a bit.

Minus the returns, he reminds me of Courtney Brown with that speed.

Ford doesnt run as fast on the footbield as he does on the track. I also have worries if he could hold up in the NFL.

And since we dont have a 5th, I dont see how we take him b/c I dont see them taking him in the 4th.

DRC played at a small school too. These kind of guys who bring rare athleticism and are worth a gamble. A guy like Javier Arenas is just limited w/ what he can do, but AOA has so much upside and can at worst return kicks for you

I like how you matched that trade...nice.

I wouldn't take two OL with the 1st two picks if I could help it, but if that's where the value is, I wouldn't be opposed to it.

Spikes won't last to the fourth. I'd rather take Burnett in the 35,also then a Ol iwith 42.
